Just for fun, I added the gatekeeper bolt-on blocker deal in conjunction with the hose clamp and popnlock. It fit over the hose clamp..........

    .
I backed into a sand dune up in Oregon that had a tree stump buried inside of it, it dented the bumper and put a ding into the tailgate, i figure that with the dent in it, it's not as attractive to thieves. Out where i live, if it's not welded or fully alarmed it's stolen.

I walked out of school one day and it was gone. Needless to say, some of my dickhead friends knew how to get it off and hid it. So, I decided to do the tailgate theft mod.

What?? You can leave feedback for comments people leave? Like Ebay feedback for how grown up and mature your replies are?

My feedback must be fucked then!

Yea, they are all over ebay sadly. The mod here on the forums helps alot, since they cant snatch and run.

I tried to steal my own off my '11 and failed. Did they change both sides? Looks like the passenger side slides right out of the coupling but that the drivers side is attached firmly. Was this a change?

After you unlatch the pass side, you gotta sorta pull out from the drivers side if I remember right. Also, if you have the backup camera there will be some wires attached.

I tried to take mine off and found i t not to simple as posted in video. I have a backup camera that you actually have to climb under the truck to locate the plug to remove. Although, I did install the Theft deterent system as well.

I know Im a little late on this one but.....you had to know that someone or many people would just do it to do it:rolleyes: Being honest....I almost did ....just to do it, but didnt and then I saw your post. Its kinda like the 50 people that feel the need to post "use the search function" every time someone posts a question. ;)

My tailgate was stolen in Hawaii. I have a 06 silver, no camera, no locking device. Pics of the dude and his budies carring it off. Gave it to the cops but they didn't care. I'm military they're Hawaiian so nothing happened. I was offroading when a flashflood came with about 15 other dudes. We had 9 trucks total and I made out best with the stolen tailgate and slashed tires. We were able to get all but 3 trucks out before night. Of the 3 that got left overnight were two were gone and teh last was on its blocks no eninge, seats, stereo, anything. It was a pretty shitty day, but insurance came throught. Definitely recomend the locking device, its cheap and easy to install.
