Not surprised to hear they are moving - they outgrew the current spot real fast. I agree they are worth the occasional drive!

Since we're on the topic, what are your guys favorite BBQ spots on the North side of town? I am still fairly new to this part of town and still haven't found my "go-to" BBQ spot.

They were attempting to renovate that old house into a restaurant, but the property got assessed at over $2M before they even finished the work. Finished, their tax bill was going to be INSANE. Buda, being Hays county, wasn’t going to rake them quite soon deeply as Travis would. So from that standpoint alone, it’s cheaper/smarter to move and set up a brick and mortar there.

Good news for me is that it’s a quick jaunt down 1626 once it’s up and running.

Blasphemy. What Bill Miller does to brisket should be outlawed.

    Their beans aren’t bad, though.

I can’t stand what they do to fried chicken. Just like Bush’s. Oooof.

Haven’t done either. What are they? Assuming chicken shacks.

Bbq places. Railroad is in Dripping Springs, not recommended. Pok-e is ok if you're hungry, otherwise it's a pass.

Checkout Brotherton Black's Ironworks BBQ in PF, Liberty BBQ in downtown Round Rock, Putska's family BBQ in Hutto is pretty good as well. Styles Switch BBQ is good also but I wasn't as impressed with it as I was these other places. Louie Mueller's in Taylor was a big letdown for me...I hyped it up so much and could barely eat my sandwich...should have asked for something else but was kind of in shock at how bad it was and how much hype that place gets.

Yeah that's how I felt at Louie M's in Taylor. Couldn't believe I just paid $16 for a sandwich that was sub par BBQ and the bun was hard as a rock.

Any time we drive up to Abilene to visit my brother we stop at Inman's in Llano. Fantastic smoked pork loin and scratch-made pies from a 120 year-old recipe that has actual lard in the crust. Best peach pies you'll ever taste.

Also a fan of hitting up the original Black's in Lockhart any time I'm down there and getting a beef rib. One will fill you up.

I’ve not made it to the original Blacks yet but Terry Blacks off Barton Springs is pretty damn good - their beef rib is heavenly.

Kreuz market is really good in the Lockhart area.
