I was made known that I was needed, by the owner himself. He just knew that I had different priorities which is why he hired someone and had me train them for my remaining 2 weeks.

The rest of the staff? He had to work on finding replacements because it made no sense keeping them if they kept making mistakes (the ones I kept fixing).

 

if I work more than 40 hours I have to take time out of my time set aside for crying? No thanks

 

I’m in the same boat. In order to get a good raise I need to be doing 45+ hours a week on average. For a raise that might be a couple of percent. It isn’t worth it, at that rate I’m giving them an extra 5+ weeks every year for an extra few grand.

The math it’s clear, the only way to make more is to quit and find another job.

I hate it, because I like my team too.

We had a safety lady till our parent company decided they dont need a safety person for each branch so now theres just one guy for the whole west coast
