MARYLAND TACOMAS

Maryland is the worst state to fish. All the fresh water is heavily pressured and full of trash. Tridelphia Reservoir is pretty nice but again it’s heavily pressured even though it’s stocked. Only person I know who can catch bass in their is my brother using a ned rig. Some people have had luck using rooster tails from the shore line. Only place I know to salt water fish is Assateague and some tributaries around Annapolis.

 

i'm not so sure about that worst state to fish claim, i've caught quite a few nice fish over the years here, but agreed that some spots do get waaaaay too much pressure. i enjoy it all though, stocked trout out of the local pond? sign me up, trolling for stripers in the bay? sure! soaking bait for catfish? sound like fun. microfishing for 2-3 inch panfish in the creek?yep. jigging, perching, flipping docks, soaking bait, topwater... you name it, i'm in! i was asking more specifically for the combo of drive out onto the beach/camp overnight and fish- where can this be accomplished in maryland? just the assateague OSV zone? or are there other spots that allow this as well? and those of you that do, any special gear? or just air down your tires, carry some maxtracks or the like and go for it?

 

Usually it’s just where ever I’m fishing is the worse spot to fish lol.
Unless it’s a charter boat on the bay for rock fish

 

lol ive been there too. usually i follow up a trip like that with a trip to mattawoman or jug bay for blue catfish because it's almost impossible to get skunked soaking bait for those things... i say almost bcause i've managed to pull that off as well.

 

That’s very true. they’ll eat anything too.

It’s at the very end of the road.I couldn’t remember which one was what and for all I know they may have eliminated the one at the end to make the River access been about 5 years since I’ve camped at GR.

 

Haven't been there (yet) myself, but perhaps it's 66?

 

Yeah that’s it ,use to be a very private camp site but with the River access that’s probably not gonna be the case .

The emotional intelligence test get me. They have nothing to do with the skills involved with the job. Some of the questions were like do you always enjoy work? Even if you liked your job there will be days you don't enjoy.

 

Yea I was figuring on having to at least hike to the river. It just be something nice for myself and the dogs. Definitely gonna try to get that site just for that view!

I like to fish the stocked trout and for other food fish. But this will be my first time out to GR so I'll see how I manage. Also gonna try out the fly rod for the first time.

Hoping Sunday still looks good to wash/clay/wash then try out some ceramic spray on my truck. Looks like 60 and overcast so a perfect day for it.

 

I was thinking we should have a detail day at my place soon. My big driveway, garage, and I have a lot of car cleaning stuff. May be a fun get together.
