None of the above. Just doing what I can when I can for the guy.

Yeah it's been a while ago. Same deal. Communication sucked and some BS drama from Skip

Eddy hasn't sold yet. He is working on orders. Steel is expensive and he is going to night college.
The work he is putting out isn't crap though. He still is taking his time and putting out the best quality work he can solo.

I have been waiting on a bed rack for just about 21 weeks! Have a trip planned soon and would have never bought from him if I knew I had to wait this long...
I'm sure his products are well made but making people wait unreasonable amounts of time with minimal communication is a no no in business.

Seems kinda sad that it feels like we're watching a business fall apart right in front of our eyes. I've seen so many people willing to support the "one man business" model for other TW members and their products, with a clear understanding that order fulfillment may be a very long time. It truly is just a beyond simple solution; communicate. Own up to your mistakes, and just admit that you're in over your head and need x-amount of time to dig yourself out. You'll lose a handful of orders, but taking on more than you can handle most definitely isn't the solution. Just ask Pelfrey. All speculation of course, but I see why the guy wants to sell it.

Yah, I actually got ridiculed by a few members for bitching that SOS should stop having sales until their prior orders are fulfilled. No one waiting on an order seemed to argue.

I e-mailed him today and on his site a week ago. Want to see if he replies. I understand he is a fabricator first but site does say he will respond in 24 to 36 hours (all in caps BTW). I don't think I am being unreasonable at 20 plus weeks of waiting.

If I don't have a response in a few days I will start the process of getting my money back (I have a phenomenal Attorney).

I admittedly am not a business man, but I assume most businesses run off borrowed money, and taking on orders is what has to happen to keep the doors open. Seems that it gets a little grey when you take money without fulfilling orders, and don't tell the buyer why. Again, we've seen it before, and PURE SPECULATION AND ASSUMPTION (I know, it makes me an ass), I'm not surprised that the owner of the company wants to clear his name of it.

I think most reasonable people would be gracious with a little communication. Hiring a high schooler to answer emails maybe?

I would draft an email for him FOR FREE just to not see another vendor/member go down in flames; also, the customers deserve it.. all he'd have to do is be willing to accept responsibility, understand he may lose some orders, change the website lead time, and simply hit "send".

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, SOS rear bumper, SOS skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
I've always liked their stuff. My SOS sliders, bumper, and skid plate are top notch in regards to fit and finish. Hope this isn't the beginning of the end for them

Haha - do it! I agree. Maybe even offer a cancelation option within a certain amount of time. It's not like he'd be hanging onto anything canceled for too long...First set of sliders so I don't have a great reference point, but they are solid; welds are perfect, powder coating is perfect, the holes lined up well, instructions were great, and they work with the lines of my truck perfectly.

Seems they’ve struggled in the past years. I picked up my sliders from Eddy’s house before he left the Charleston area. Ordered my ifs skid and streamline front bumper from him and picked up in Laurens, no issues. Granted, communication was never great, but was never ghosted. Sad to see

I don't know if we're ready for that answer. The thread seems to be pretty civil and productive right now :anonymous:

Yea, definitely. I think someone mentioned earlier he’s not much of a “talker” but a nice guy nonetheless

Good point, but I wouldn’t have engaged anything negative. Lord knows we have more than enough of that going around. It was more so to drive empathy.

Its mostly a joke to make light of a few people's crappy situations. That being said, realistically, I think people will say he's a nice guy; and you won't hear anyone say he's not, bc they know the consequences of airing dirty laundry around here lol. Everyone has dirt. And while I have no dog in the fight, I don't like to see companies taking a fall at the expense of their hard working paying deserving customers. That alone says enough for me, and unfortunate bc I actually like his products and have them on my truck. Never been one to not buy from a company or store based on any set of misaligned values, or sell/destroy my owned products from them, but I'd definitely buy elsewhere if I had it to do over. And thats unfortunate.

I got all my armor from a SOS group buy several years ago, I literally had a million questions since I ordered everything all at once (front bumper, rear bumper, and sliders) Eddy answered all my questions (and I had several of them, even changed some things) within 24 hours or less. Sad to see this, hopefully things improve.

Man am I in the same boat. Ordered a bumper and received a confirmation December 1st. No word yet, sent a couple emails and haven't heard anything. Ironic as I have waited several years to buy this sort of bumper and when I finally do, I may have gotten screwed.
