Does anyone have this lift with some weight on the front?

I have about 150#s up front with a bumper and a winch and don't wanna be the guinea...LOL

I filled up about 18 gallons and there was no difference in the vibrations.

I wanted to confirm the shocks were put in correct orientation.

The fronts have the logo facing forward.

Driver’s rear is facing the back and passenger rear is facing the front.

I’m taking it to the dealer Monday. I’m almost afraid to.

I think this will be a combination of things to get the driveline in the right Joint Angle. Looking forward to trying to provide a fix here for the others experiencing the same.

Just put enough weight over the rear axle in the bed to lower the fender an 1" closer to the ground
(do the measurement). Drive it. If the vibrations disappear you know where the problem is.

Just shim the rear block and you are done. Problem solved.

If you want to get the dealer to do it.. drive over there and get them to install
the factory OEM shim they left out.. add another 1 degree or just buy the block I reference
earlier that has a built in shim along with a centering pin so you don't have to pull
the spring pack apart or buy forked shims.

Some have went thru this early in the thread with 100% success.

I am getting some bags of soil tomorrow on my day off and testing it, and have an appointment at the dealership to drop off Monday morning. I emailed the photos you took showing the oem shim and how they left it out, and also the information on the joint angles. I don't have much faith in them, but I do in you and I can't thank you enough man.

    @Fast1 Dear sir,

I am happy to report to you that the dealership is installing a 2* shim for now after talking about what you helped me with here and we will take it from there.

I’ve noted some of the problems I’ve experienced in this thread and wanted to provide an update just in case I’ve talked anyone out of purchasing the OEM lift.

After multiple trips to my local dealer to investigate my vibration problem, I had an independent shop Road Force balance my Duratracs that came on the truck from the factory. 3 of the 4 could not be balanced due to being so far out of spec. Toyota only considered one of the tires bad according to the values I provided. 3/4 were all over 28 pounds of road force. They only considered the one at 38 pounds to be bad. I had my local tire shop put a new set of KO2’s and the truck now drives like it should. Hard not to be disappointed in Toyota for how they handled this.

Hey, I just got home from work after a 12.5 hour day. Yes, it worked to eliminate maybe 80-90% of the vibrations, so I consider that a win. I can't tell if those vibes are from the road or whether it wants to start vibrating but won't, but I am doing the ECGS bushing in two weeks anyway and will report back. I love this freaking truck again.

So to answer the question, yes it did work! Now to replace with a steel shim and continue the plan.

Holy cow. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's giving me the other 10%.

So there's not a lot of information for people who want to order a custom steel shim from 4 Crawler and I think I have the recipe here for the people who want to add 2* or more to the lift. Very little information on the appropriate shim dimensions I could find except for a thread here from last January. So here's what I'm ordering from 4Crawler.

    Style: Bolt On

    Hole: Centered

    Hole Size: 3/8"

Angle: 2* (or more if you need after measuring your Joint Angle, but 2* usually sets it nearest to middle of tolerance for my application if math is correct)

Length: 4.75" (I measure this to be our Perch size, but it will be sitting on our block, which I think is 6" long. If anyone has anything different, let me know my error. I was crawling under my truck at the office messing up my business attire)

Width: 2.375" (To cover the entire OEM leaf width)

I see the vast majority of shims are 2" wide. I doubt it will make a lick of difference but more metal is better IMO. Hopefully this helps someone who wants to shim it. They're $40 plus shipping from 4Crawler.

Also I am going to CRC 6026 it like the rest of the underbody and pretend it's a cosmolined SKS like the days of youth.

Removed my “heritage” trd lift grill. Replaced it with the original or grill. Didn’t have any sensors pop up or anything. If they tell you you need tss to be recalibrated, don’t believe it.

I believe it. It says it is compatible on the TRD lift site I think, so maybe they don't do anything. Do you have the 4 way cameras?

No 4 way. A front camera, but it’s aftermarket. After my lift was done, like last year before the stop sale was issued, the dealer told me I needed to have it calibrated. The rear spacer has been removed and replaced with a toytec progressive aal, that put the back end up another 1.5 inches over stock. So that should’ve messed with the calibration, but later on for the grill re-swap the sensor height is different between the two grills. Yet no Christmas on the dashboard.

I guess if you go overboard with the lift then I'd expect the sensors to read out of spec, but I doubt that a 2" or less lift needs any of that since there must be a tolerance in it and most people here seem to have no issues. Maybe with the stock 4 way cameras the guide lines may be off a bit, some people say they stopped working as well from some posts. In your particular case, the dealer was trying to get some more business it sounds like.

I am looking to buy these trd/Bilstien shocks to go on my 2022. I have always had 5100 in the past. They ride a little firm but take all the body roll out of the truck. 5100 are on backorder. So not really an option for me. Has anyone had both and give feedback? I see they are the same Diameter. Not worried about lift heights. Im looking for comments like it rides rough and has zero body roll. no brake dive etc.

There is a little bit more brake dive and a little more body roll than the stock O/R shocks. At no point does it snap or rebound too harshly, nor is it a rough ride, unless you get vibrations due to needle bearing/driveline angles.

I got 90% of the vibrations settled on my truck and wouldn't look back. Are you looking to buy the shocks themselves, or the whole kit with the grill and new MWS?

I would only be replacing the shocks. More body roll than My stock OR shocks would not make me happy. I am used to Bilstien 5100 nearly zero body roll or brake dive. Makes for huge stability (pulling trailers too).

More brake dive/body roll than the stock Offroad shocks has not been my experience. I had an '05 Offroad (since new) that had two sets of 5100's, and I'd say the TRD setup feels very similar on my '22 Offroad, both before and after. On both Offroad's, the stock Bilstiens coupled with the original spring setup had a bouncy ride, with more brake dive, and body roll. With both the TRD kit, and 5100's on the '05, and '22, it firmed the ride up perfectly IMO, and reduced both body roll, and brake dive.
