hahaha yeah, you can prove any "point" by choosing arbitrary date ranges.

 

This is the BEST financial advice I've seen on this thread so far.

 

Truth is the only point that really counts is the one in which you take your money out of the market. At that time averages over 10 years don’t mean jack squat to the individual if the markets way down for an extended time. Averages over time only give us hope for a decent increase before we take it out. Nothings a sure thing with the current economy.

 

I’m waiting until the markets back up to pull out and selling my Tacoma when it doubles in value. Buy low, sell high lol

 

Also that book Risk without Wealth is a good read. Or is it Wealth without Risk, can't remember.

 

20k might have been an over estimate.

If you didn't need the truck, and sold it. You would probably have made a profit of a few thousand dollars.
