    Stock and staying that way
    What are the benefits?

One negative is that it doesn’t age nearly as well as 100% gas. I have to replace the fuel system in my Trans Am because it sat for years with E10 in it.

Ah, Chrysler, Benz and Volvo. I see. You're welcome to cite articles that prove ethanol contains the same amount of energy potential as pure gas.

The only benefit to running premium in an engine designed for regular is that the premium may not have ethanol in it and may give you slightly better gas mileage. In my area, Shell VPower 91 octane does not have ethanol as an example, where regular 87 octane has up to 10%. You need the software/tune to gain the benefits of higher octane gas, which will be negligible and a waste of money in a NA engine.

Where did I ever say E10 had the same amount of potential energy as 100% gasoline? Here's a hint, I never did. The conventional metric is Regular grade E10 has 97% of the potential energy of 100% Regular grade gasoline. What you may not understand is Regular grade gasoline (at any given concentration of ethanol) has as much as 1% more potential energy than Premium grade gasoline (at the same given concentration of ethanol). "Why" you might ask? Because the anti-detonation additives of higher AKI fuels displace some of the gasoline, and anti-detonation additives have no potential energy.

I was using premium gas as a way of avoiding putting ethanol in my fuel system. The long term effects of ethanol involve drying out (rapid aging) of rubber components.

Negative, fuel system metal and rubber have all been built to play nice with containing up to 10% ethanol for a long time; yeah, 15% or more may be an issue. Long story short, your fuel system will not age one day faster running E10 than it will running 100% gasoline.

    Oh the ethanol debate again...

I had a 2008 sedan manual Yaris for 12 years. Still unsure why I sold it. Sure rust was getting there a bit, but nothing dangerous.

As much as crap as it sounds for most people, I'm glad to see I'm not alone...

After removing I clean, treat with rubber care, let the air out, place on cardboard in my garage (cement pulls out the oils in rubber) out of the sun and cover.

Yeah I've got a set of tires for my V-Strom I bought a couple years ago on a super cheap sale (bought two sets). Doing the same, keeping the extra set off the concrete and covered.
