I’d love to be able to justify a daily beater, but my commute is too short that I couldn’t make the math work unless the delta between premium and regular became dollars.

Quick question for the crew. Does anyone have a basic 100 series John Deere lawn tractor with the basic bagger? If so, can you give me the dimensions from the back of the tractor to the back of the bagger? I’m trying to figure out how much additional length the bagger adds to the tractor.

I’m plotting out getting one of those build it yourself prefab sheds and a new lawn tractor and I’m figuring out floor plans and fitment.

I just totaled out a customer’s 2011 Escape hybrid a few weeks ago! Needed a battery replacement to the tune of $12,000-13,000 with parts and labor. SUPER good to offset your fuel costs! Run, don’t walk, from hybrid vehicles

My hate for them aside, I had a 2019 or 2020 (I forget) Chevy Malibu for a few weeks in April/May after my frame failed the inspection. Gasser and it got close to 40 city even. I only got it out on the highway going to/from Boston in light traffic but IIRC it was 45 or so there. Really seems like a lot of car for the money compared to the Camry if you like bells and whistles

    What about electric o_O

Batteries aren't too bad to diy. There was a youtube dude who did a Prius battery for 3K. Not super cheap but if it's a known cost and you get the Prius for dirt cheap because the batteries are known to be toasted, could be worth it (he knew it was toasted).

I'm looking at some electric vibrator on wheels for the new job. 1.5 mile commute. Truck doesn't heat up. Gonna be not good on oil to run and not heat up that much.

Only about 3500 to replace a prius battery and they run for 250k miles. Must be a ford problem.

I have an x500 bagger that I've never used. Not sure if it's similar in mounting and dimensions to the 100 series or not, but I can certainly set it on the back and measure it if it's helpful.

Absolutely. It looks like it would be similar, if not slightly bigger. The shed I’m looking at is a nominal 8 foot depth, so I’m hoping it fits. I know you could pull the bushel bags and flip it up to gain some space, so hopefully it will be a non-issue.

I take it whenever possible, saves gas, saves miles on the truck and who doesn't like driving in what feels like a go cart around town?

Not sure how it compares but my Murray is less than 8 feet with it attached..and as you said, mine can flip up if I don't want to take it apart. I leave it in the garage in season but off season it goes in the shed, I then remove the bagger and toss it on top of the machine

I saw a new Tundra on I-95 in the Dedham area this morning. I'd call the color Royal Blue, but I'm sure Toyota has a different name. This had regular plates, so it wasn't a dealer demo.

From the rear, the taillights were sort of non descript, a vertical rectangle. From the look it had LED lights, but I don't know if Tundras have different lighting sources like Tacomas do. I passed it and caught the grill in my mirror. That thing is huge and looks like a giant mouth that could swallow a Kia whole.

Not a bad looking truck, but I'm not tempted to trade my Tacoma in for one.

Just a wild guess but I wonder if it's Blue Crush like the Rav4?
