Ya know, I always thought so. A few of my customers over the years that were veterinarians have agreed. But a few years ago I got the Embark DNA kit and it came back 50/50 German Shepherd and American pit bull terrier. She’s a rescue I adopted at about 1.5 years old. I love this dog and I wouldn’t care if she were 80% dung beetle. She’s still my girl :)

Good on you for keeping your friend safe and out of the back when the truck is moving. Juno goes almost everywhere with me, including to work and on most service calls when it’s not too hot. For a long time I used a generic seatbelt adapter from petco but it started to get flimsy. What I’m using now is a section of my old climbing rope that has held me on the side of mountains. I tied it to a car seat anchor in the back and it clips to her harness with one of my old carabiners. I use a section of this same rope as her primary leash. Works extremely well.

Kimo can get the generic seatbelt leash undone in about 5 minutes. A part of the problem is that he’s getting taller and the leash more restrictive. So, he lies down and paws at the release. I cut a plastic cup down as cover which worked until the cup broke. For what it’s worth, I have to kiddie lock the windows too.

My German Shepherd chewed the window latch off the interior shell window so he could stick his head into the rear seat area!

I kind of figured that out after sending my question and looking again at your posting.
Big guy, a lot of Malinois I have seen are kind of on the thin side.

I use a thick metal cable tie out attached to the child seat anchors, fed up through the "oh shit bars". It acts as a zipline for him to check out both windows, but keeps him out of the front seat and in place if I slam on the breaks.

I'm more concerned with Kimo becoming a missile in an accident or worse, being ejected. I was hit from behind at 35mph. It put Riley against the pax seat and he ended up on the floor between the seats. If he'd been in the center, he would have come between the seats and probably hit the dash. Ideally, dogs would ride in crates. And sometimes, Kimo does. But with the seat belt or child seat restraint, it's a bit safer.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Working from home we decided to open the living room and office to Tessa. This morning She's been moving her stuff out to the living room from the office.

Any recommendations on allergy tests from Amazon, chewy, etc. or is there a consensus on the accuracy of them? I would think the vet would use a similar boxed test kit. The lowest cost I got from vets i shopped around was $400 to do the testing.

I learned allergy testing is expensive. Treatment is also expensive. There’s allergy specialists who can charge up to two grand for diagnosis. Then once
You know, you’ll pay for medication.

Riley was constantly itching. I went to the vet to ask about it and to make a long story short, diet plays a large part and poultry based diets are some of the leading causes of allergies. We ended up on a salmon and sweet potato diet. To augment, he was on apaquil (spelling) which can be given as needed.

Talk to your vet. There may be alternatives to try before committing to allergy testing and the expensive of treatment.
