Cooper rugged trek was my favorite between KO2s and Falken Wildpeaks. It balanced well, snow rated, and quiet. Ymmv

You going to pay cash for these tires, or finance? :)

Who among us has owned and driven on these five tires and is qualified to make an informed appraisal? I've owned three sets of KO2's, but that doesn't qualify me to comment on if they are better than the others. I know this: as they age they become louder and louder, but possibly all of these do that.

Had terrible rain/snow performance with my last set of K02s, and current Nitto RGs are wearing prematurely. Thinking about giving Duratracs a shot next

Ive had wrangler kevlar mt/r and bfg ko2 in a 33 and both of those tires seemed pretty bulletproof to me. The bfg's I got used and put like 40k on them before I had to swap and they saw a lot of trails and highway. The wranglers did pretty good in GA mud and pulled a 5k pound trailer on a 3rd gen 4runner 2k miles no problem and those tires looked like new when I got rid of that truck and they had 20k on them. The wranglers also got a lot nails in them on construction sites and were fine as well.

Just got some cooper stt pro's. About to try those out.

    Hey gang,

I had a set of K02s which were quite underwhelming, especially given the price. Wet and snow performance was poor. I then switched to a set of Wildpeaks and was very impressed in dry, wet, and snow conditions. I have a new rig coming and was thinking about giving the Open Countries a go now that Wildpeaks are similarly priced.

I have run the duratracs on work trucks for the last 7-8 years. I like them but as they get older they get loud.

I dumped a set of KO2's due to poor performance on wet roads and mediocre performance in snow. They were replaced with Toyo AT-III's and I haven't regretted it once, not even in my limited time in the mud. The Toyo's are much quieter and performed great in the snow but the KO2's seemed to be a little better in the mud. I cannot speak on the other tires you mentioned but I have heard great things about the Coopers from a buddy of mine who has a '16 Off Road with 3" lift.

Yes, C class. Two of the sets went on my '93 4Runner. One is still there, but I don't drive it much. It was my wife's go-to-work vehicle and she only put highway miles on them, being 53 miles one way. It has 413,000 miles on it, so I've been through a few sets of tires on it and the KO2s are as good or better than any of them. That was years ago though. I do not remember exactly how many miles she got on them, but I have no recollection of being displeased with the mileage we got out of the first set. And the third set is still sitting out on my shop waiting to be mounted to my stock 17" Sport wheels, that will be after I install the suspension parts that are also out there. Suffice it to say that I have been through a few sets of tires on Toyotas in my lifetime, and I wouldn't have bought the KO2's if I didn't think they would perform, including acceptable mileage. My only memory is that road noise increases with wear. Might be true of all of those mentioned.

    Besides, they look aggressively badass.

Buy one of each. That way, there's at least one wheel that's better in the terrain you're in.

I like the Cooper ST MAXXs more over the BFG KO2s. I have ran both on several vehicles.

When I was a logger way back we used the St maxxs's on our crew bus and they did great on gravel and great on wet pavement

Personally I have a set of 315/75/16 ko2's on backorder patiently waiting for tracking number. I've always had great luck with bfg's

I chose Toyo Open Country AT III's based on how well my factory A30's did on my truck. The price also helped. Far cheaper in price then any of the others. I have had them on for 2 weeks and about 750kms. Not really enough to give an in-depth review... but some first impressions.

The are responsibly quiet even on the highway doing 125kph. ( about as noisy as my Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV winters.)

They have great traction in rain so far.

Good traction in early morning cold, wet conditions with a little bit of ice.

So far wear is not noticeable, but I have yet to wear off the nubs from the molding process.

So far I think I made a good choice.
