There are many uses for that stainless steel screen.. corvettes are not one of them.

What is the width of that screen? Any idea on the hole size?

Thanks for the kind offer Shane but it's going to require something to allow more airflow for cooling. I'll post a picture of stuff we have in the shop that I was considering.

Looks like a #60 - #70 mesh; WAYYYYY too small for a grill I suspect.

The thing is, the parts were missing when I bought the car as was the original 327 engine and lastly, it was severely molested back in 1977 when no one gave thought to body modifications greatly decreasing the value. Fender flares, rear taillight etc.20200907_134351.jpg 20210626_101434.jpg

IIRC his car had some weird ass mod to the rear lights. Might be a different member though...

Yes, I just can't justify the cost associated with changing it back to original. I don't even have the chrome surrounding the grill. What's in the picture is what I've got. I know some Nuclear grade tig welders that can help me with a frame for the mesh and painted black it should look fair.

I was wondering if smoke would pass through it.. looks about the right size to use for smoking Kosher Salt in the smoker, though the 8 inches is a little narrow to be productive.

Gotta admit, even though it hurts me to see things like that, it looks sort of cool!

I'll do a smoke test on it sometime and see how good it passes through, may be able to round up a bigger piece.
