This was done a couple weeks ago, but never posted anything. My poor '12 has been pretty neglected and sun damaged for the last few years, so I am finally getting her all cleaned back up. Took it in to a shop and had the hood and roof resprayed, all the larger dings removed, deep gouges filled on all fours doors and new clear. They also sprayed the rear bumper with fresh Line-X. Tailgate was also not working properly, as the fender bender that got me the All-Pro rear bumper also bent the tailgate frame. It seems to have slowly gotten worse, so the body shop hammered it back to straight. It just needs a new bushing on one side and she'll be good. Already replaced the hinges with heavy duty galvanized steel.

I told them to ignore the front bumper and fender flares, as I ordered Bushwhacker pocket flares and am about to order a steel bumper (looking at the Chassis Unlimited). Also ordered a set of KMC Impact OL's 17x8.5" in bronze as well as a Yakima Overhaul HD bed rack.

She also got a fresh K&N cabin air filter today, and I am waiting for a new blower fan (old one is weak and noisy), SAI pump (CEL has been on for three damn years) and some other misc. goodies (stubby antenna, smoked sequential lights for the mirrors, smoked third brake light). Last things I want to order and install are a mild lift, grill and lighting for the new bumper. A little further down the road I'll be replacing the stereo, headlights and repairing the mirrors; then I can call it done for a while outside of minor fixes and maintenance--probably dechroming too.

Ugh! What have I done to my truck? New bumper? No. 35s? Nope. Backed my truck into a tree and dented my tailgate! I hope this pops out!

No hashing on the water spots. The water in our town is so hard it hurts to take a shower.

Paintless dent removal can massage it out. Just popping it will leave the crease at the top.

Secondary Air Injection Pump came in, so threw it on really quick. Install took about five minutes. Cleared the CEL/Trac-off light that's been on for like 3-4 years, finally. The two CELs I was throwing were "Secondary Air Injection System Pump Stuck Off (Bank 1)" and "Secondary Air Injector Relay A Malfunction". Hoping replacing the pump keeps them both off, but we'll see. Not sure what or where the relay is. The pump was about $120, so vastly cheaper than the $800-1600 the dealership wants.

Next up is the noisy AC blower, which should be here tomorrow. Though, changing the cabin filter to a K&N made it finally blow like it should.. old filter was filthy! Still, the blower was $25, so worth it to get rid of the constant squeak and maybe get a little more airflow. Winter's coming to an end here in PR, and it's starting to hit the 90's already. Everything helps.

Removed my glove compartment to have a look at the dash harness and I can confirm that the connector I removed from the new harness won't be needed.

Thanks for the updates. Like following along to see how these 2 & 3rd gen's age. Not crazy about your paint issue for a 2012. However the touch-up's look good. Nice that the blower fans and motors are easy access.

Rerouted the intake to make room for my air compressor I plan to relocate to under the hood.

Finished and installed a switch plate for power, lights and battery monitor…

One switch is for the lights in the shell, the other turns off all power to the tent.

I think (hope) this is the last of the electrical work for a while!

Try lubing the mechanism on your neutral safety switch. I`ve got a 2013 four cylinder auto and it started doing this. Eventually threw a code. Climbed underneath and sprayed penetrating spray on the mechanism. Have someone run it through the gear motion( engine off of course). My switch is mounted on the passenger side of the tranny. Later on had a new switch put on at the dealer. if you have a modicum of mechanical capability you could replace it yourself. Mine happened in midwinter so I had the dealer replace it. No problems for over four years.
