Yeah great warranty but if it's in the shop all the time that's more frustrating than any vehicle.
Can cherry pick reviews all day long but the main course is the batteries. They fail they're made in China not well-made either. Maybe get lucky but a lot of folks are getting unlucky.
Then there is disposing of those shit batteries. Lotta cost down the road could be 10,000 miles it could be 120,000 miles regardless it's a pain in the tail.
Technology is catching up but will take 10+years for it to be really efficient.
I'm all about the EV trip just not about how inefficient they are.

Mine is getting traded if gas hits $5 per gallon. Tired of old crusty fat men deciding my fuel prices.

EV's are not at a place where I would buy one at this time. When I can get 400 plus miles on one charge driving at 75 mph, I might begin to consider. Until then, I will not waste my money. I have driven several Teslas on multiple occasions and not one approached a range of 300 miles with me driving like I do my cars. At best, under 200 miles before needing a charge.

Well, based on my user name do you think I’m one of those of people? I’m not sure what the revolt is. Their CEO apologized on 3/3 and promised the original price to those that ordered before the price change on 3/1 and those that canceled their order because of the price change.

that was a stand up move. People make mistakes all the time. Not often do they stand up, take accountability and make things right. No harm no foul as far as I'm concerned.

it was about this time last year the wife and i test drove a model 3. we debated waiting.. and considering JB got put into office we knew it was a matter of time before gas went up so we decided to pull the trigger. so glad that we did. honestly its the funnest car i ever drove on the street. not that i get to drive super cars or anything crazy.

also .. NO to the title... i got my taco after the tesla.

Three different batteries - the final battery installed may be the first 1million mile battery.

    Another high mileage Tesla;

I agree with your point on the materials sourcing/transport and disposal of these batteries. They’ve come a long way though, I’ll consider an EV one day but for now I’m with @RatDaddy and his post above.

I'd buy a ice Porsche before buying a Tesla. Makes about as much sense in my mind.

I'll keep my 2020 Taco until they come out with a Hybrid option. Then trade it in on a 2025 model.

Be really happy you don't live in California! We picked up a Model 3 for my spouse in 2018, absolutely great vehicle, no maintenance issues at all, just rotate the tires. So nice not to have to gas up a 2nd vehicle. Plugged it in today to charge from our 16 panel solar system. I put a deposit on a Tesla Cybertruck, cheapest version on day 2 of reservations. If and when it is available for purchase I will think twice
about if I will get rid of my 06 Tacoma

I'M about to pull the trigger on a 9.2kW system. My first SDGE bill was enough to make me look into solar lol

Based on Tesla previously announcing that they would focus on the tri-motor first, you could be waiting quite some even after initial deliveries. That doesn’t account for the announcement that there would be a quad motor version.

We got out model 3 in 1/18 too. Been perfect. With my 44 panels haven’t payed a penny for electricity in 6 years, 40,000 free miles on 3. Our x also pretty perfect but I make Tesla pay for all the electricity. (Free supercharger for life)
