Might just be the picture but that coil spring looks messed up. In any case, what do expect to gain by installing those without the trd pro shocks?

That's because it's two coils in a single box. And no they won't fit the sport suspension. The inside diameter of those springs is ~2.5"

Are you saying the sport shocks won’t fit inside a 2.5” inner diameter coil spring? That doesn’t seem right to me.

Yes that's what I'm saying. The Pro coilovers have a 2.5" shock body. The sport and OR coilovers have smaller shock bodies.

edit: actually yeah they'll fit inside the 2.5" ID spring. all the way inside and will pass right over the spring seat

Ok, so the smaller diameter shock should fit easily. Yes?

Or is it the points that the coil attaches to the shock that is the problem?

At this point I'm pretty sure you're just trolling me. I'm trying to keep OP from buying springs he can't use. Do whatever you want bro

the inside diameter of the spring needs to be approximately the same as the outside diameter of the shock body. putting a 2.5" ID spring on a 2" OD shock body will not work.

You aren’t explaining why, but I’m guessing the issue is the connection points (top hat and whatever the bottom point is called) of the smaller diameter shock are not big enough for the larger diameter coil spring, thus the shock would be unable to compress the spring.

Go outside and look at your coilovers. Now imagine that those springs' inside diameter was larger by .5". How well would they fit?

Sorry I’m just not following you. An extra 0.5” of inner diameter would give the coil springs 0.5” more clearance with the shock body. What’s wrong with extra shock body clearance? Some how we are not communicating

I truly don't know how else to put this. A shock body with a 2" OD requires a spring with ~2" ID. They are expressly designed to work together. A spring too large will not seat properly, and may pass over the spring seat entirely depending on size and design

    .

Yes that’s what I was saying above about the connection points. The shock body diameter is not important unless it is larger than the inner diameter of the coil spring.

In any case, I think we are both telling the OP that this a misguided adventure.

most of the 2.0 springs don’t/won’t have a spring seat that was designed for a 2.5” ID spring.

Yes that’s what I meant about the connection points. Spring seat is possibly a better term.

I think you're discounting how precise these things need to be. For instance the 2016-19 Pro springs won't work on the 2020+ Pro model shocks due to a difference in spring seat design even though they are identical in shock body size and manufacturer.

Yes I was discounting that. I’m asking questions to educate myself and also to clarify/elaborate what you are saying for the wider audience.
