At the 5:00 minute mark or so he explains why you should never change your ATF too soon. Also why a complete drain and refill (IE flush) is a bad idea. Never knew this myself, but this is a trustworthy source.

correct, just changing the fluid in the tranny pan would be like removing 1 qt of oil from the motor and replacing it with a new quart.

Happy to see you can do math. Now if you could only read properly.

It wasn't an addition to the thread. Never claimed to be.
It was an example towards a statement made by another post.

I would use OEM Toyota fluid if I was going to the work of changing it.
It seems that modern transmissions are less forgiving about fluid than the ones from the days when your choices were Dexron or Type F.

My opinion: Flushing machines are profit makers for the machine owner.

If there was a great deal of sludge in the pan, which is doubtful in the case of the OP, I feel a better job would be done by physically removing the pan and cleaning it and also the pan magnet versus using a machine.

It’s not about sludge, it’s about exchanging all the fluid for new fluid before there is sludge, simple maintenance. The machine is actually a transfusion machine, fluid that is pumped out by the trans compresses a bladder that contains the new fluid, pushing the new fluid into the trans. New and old fluid do not mix during this process. FWIW I have been a technician for 30 years, and this is the ONLY fluid machine service I recommend. The others (brake fluid, ps fluid, coolant) are all bullshit money makers for the shop, “gravy” as they call it.

I've been out of the shop machine repair biz for quite a while but I'm curious what machine your referring to with bladder? The only unit I saw that was "pumpless" was the T Tech machine like this

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/113673432605

Pretty ingenious unit. It worked fairly well. No pumps. Used the transmission pump to push the fluid in one end of the cylinder which had fresh fluid on the other side of the plunger being push back into the transmission. Most of the machines from Motorvac, Flo Dynamics etc all used pumps and did a measuring, balancing act until the exchange was complete. By the way, the key word here is "Exchange" . Flush is not the right word for what the machines do. (even though that's what some shops call the service) In the early years of the tranny machines, they used to use chemicals to "flush" transmission. Not anymore.
One more thing, I'm not going to get into the "failures" of these machines, as there are some problems with them, but I will say that changing from one fluid type to another was not something techs did thoroughly or effectively and might have something to do with some of these failures too. All this being said, I am pro exchange, but you have to do it before the fluid degrades too much and you have to drop the pan sometimes, to change the screen and clean the magnets. I did my first exchange at 45K, (I tow 4000 lbs every summer) I dropped the pan and did the screen but I won't do that the next time just the exchange at around 80000 miles.

OP I wouldn't change the fluid at 25K. If it's still pink, your fine.

And think of all the Land Cruisers and other diesels running around Africa and the Middle East. They never change oil (generalization) and only add a quart if and when the idiot light says it’s running low. I guess if you like spending money go ahead…..

BG PF5 uses a bladder. Not sure of the others.

100% this! The fluid level must be checked properly. This isn't a manual gear box or diff where you have a fill plug that pours out when it's full.

    And this!
