IDK how nobody has mentioned this, but you can get a 3rd row in the 4runner.

It is tight, but I grew up in the backseat of my Xtracab Tacoma, so a kid would have no problem in the 3rd row

I have had a ‘18 and ‘22 Tacoma, ‘19 highlander and ‘22 4runner. Traded highlander in towards 4runner and wouldn’t go back, the only benefit highlander had was better gas mileage but if you are purchasing a4runner my guess is it’s not a big deal for you. The third Row is impractical from a design perspective for daily use so unless you absolutely need it pass. 4 runner back seat is large and comfy and will be for years, sit high and feels substantial. I have a 6 and 12 year old for size reference.

Yeah they have more leg room but from a width perspective the hip room is actually smaller by 1" according to specs listed online

Reckon you shoulda titled your post should I sell my tacoma and get a 4runner. I’d so no cause it’ll cost you a pretty penny these days. I paid 37k for my brand new sr5 premium (with oem predator steps) in early January 2021. Now the used ones are 45 and up

I thought people would look at my signature and see I already had it, but yeah I get that.

I'm seeing several in my area with slightly higher mileage than my Taco (50K) for around 35K

Again. We already have a mini van. My typical transportation with the kids is fairly minimal

My vote is for the 4Runner for your family. Much more room.

Then the 4runner is out. I have a 2016 runner and a 2021 taco. Three car seats will not work unless you go 3rd row in it.

I'd go with a 4runner - can still crush some sick adventures if you need to, with the added comfort of good rear seating.

    We've got a 2018 taco and 2019 runner.

3rd row is available in the sr5 runner. There is significantly more leg room in the back seat of the runner. Between the two...the 4runner is better at family type duties.

Just realize that it wont just be baby seats in the back as one of you (adults) must end up in the backseat at times to take care of, amuse, etc, the little ones. Backseat is way too small and you can use the more enclosed space in the 4 Runner than the truck bed. Practicality is the word of the day..
