Throwback to one of my first offroad trips when I first joined Tacomaworld about 6 years ago. Thanks @BLKTRUCK @ODNAREM (did he quit tw?) @TXpro4X4 @madsand . It was a cool trip with maybe 20 or so rigs. Wayy too many guys but it was an awesome experience and led into the hobby/obsession I have now. Thanks everyone who helped me along the way

I talked to the guy at the time. From what I remember the guy said his wife backed up into a pole at the mall and tweeked the G-Wagon pretty good. From then on he decided to start wheeling it. Why it doesn't have a spare, who knows. At least it got wheeled :bananadance:. When are you going to start wheeling that GX :p.... and sell the volt. I demand dibs :p:rofl:

Isn't that how most women get a GWagen? :jerkoff:

Hopefully have the GX at Superstition this weekend next year, gotta start stripping the Taco to fund the GX build. Sell the Volt? Eeehhh not likely since it's basically a free car :brianr:

Are the UCAs spoken for? If not, how many miles on them and what's the condition? Price? You can PM if you want.

In time, got a couple options as of now.
    1. Her folks gave us their 03 GX470. Nice rig (mostly land cruiser), but needs a lot of maintenance: rear main seal, exhaust leak, rear airbag suspension delete, all windows need new weatherstripping etc. Use the Taco proceeds to get it repaired & built up
    2. Sell the taco bolt ons, the Taco and the tired GX and parlay all that cash into a newer SUV, maybe a 15ish GX460, and build it up to be a decently capable rig. Not triple bypass Kings like the Taco is, but something I can take the boy out camping in soon & still have enough fun to keep me smiling.
If we do option 2 then it may not be soon....it's a seller's market and I don't wanna get bent over if we buy another one. I work from home now & she's on workers comp so we could share the Volt until we find what we want.

Hell yeah, congratulations man! How many miles are on the 470? That rear main seal isn’t going to be a small job but those 4.7’s are super reliable engines and would keep you rolling for a long time once you get it some love.

Now I’m don’t have a lot of experience with any of these platforms but if memory serves me, a gx470 used the same suspension as a 4th gen 4runner because they are the same frame and platform. Then the 2nd gen Taco and 4th gen runner share the same front suspension. So maybe its possible to take all that fancy front suspension you have from the taco and slap it on that gx and be half way to a build? This might be late night fantasy stuff but probably worth looking into if its possible or not.

More food for thought is right now the aftermarket support for the 460 isn’t great. There’s some products for them but its a crappy market compared to the 470’s. My buddy just got a 460 and he’s been telling me some of struggles he’s been having with his build. Always tells me he wishes he got the 470.

Either way I’m sure whatever you do is going to be bad ass. Can’t wait to roll with you and the little guy once you get it all figured out
