Tbh I’m more of a coors light guy if we’re talking domestic lights. But every now and then a busch light hits the spot. Bud light messes my stomach up for some reason.. I don’t understand.

My OME setup always felt stiff - mainly in the front end. I also had the “clunk” over bumps that I never cared for but I think that’s just the way they were built. The dakars and rear OME shocks were great as long as I had some weight in the bed.

My Dakar’s are 5 or 6 years old and still squeak like they are brand new! Mine have also been clunking over bumps since I installed them. My 886 coils are still stiff with all the weight. I’ll Never get OME Again. But then again, this is my last tacoma and I’m done with this shit.

I would like to try a different front end.. but honestly don't want the research it again.. I'm planning on changing shocks to billies but that's about it.. I wondered about the upper control arms from spc to jba... but if it ain't broke don't fix it

Are JBA's adjustable? I'd be curious about the alignment adjustability when running larger tires. Never looked into it. I know the SPC's are adjustable, and they have partially save my fender flares. Before I had them adjusted I was killing my fender flares with rub.

^^^ With the SPCs and a good alignment from a shop not named Firestone, I have not had to do a CMC or any trimming.

I have spc’s and did not do a cab mount chop until I went with wheel spacers.

you would be going backwards by switching to JunkBA’s.

My next truck is most likely going to be a tundra.
I do want a z71 with the 3.0 duramax but not sure I want to take that chance. I’ve read a lot of good things about them OTHER than the oil pump belt you have to change at “150k miles” and to do that, the transmission has to be dropped. BUT, I’ve read to where people have waited until 250k miles and the belt was still like new.
Apparently to fit that engine in a 1/2 ton they could not use a chain because their was no room for the tensioner is why they used a belt. They also claim a belt is quieter. But if I was to get one hearing the chain over the aftermarket exhaust would be hard I would imagine.

I was close to getting a Colorado with the mini Duramax before I decided on the new Tacoma. I got the Tacoma betting on reliability so hopefully that works out lol

Dobinson’s coils and shocks. SOS sliders, ditch light brackets, and front skid. Rigid ditch lights. BFG KO(dos) More minor stuff.
    OME sucks.

Running Dobinsons on the Taco and T4R. Great ride and have held up unlike OME.
Running 285s on the taco with 1.5” wheel spacers and no CMC needed.

Carlton customs did my alignment and it has been good since day 1.

I’m installing a set of 5100s and OME 887s from Headstrong tomorrow. Figured I’d give the billies a shot. New cv axles and seals as well.

    Thoughts on 886 vs 887 vs 888?

i keep reading they all sag except the 886

I was going to run the darkars in the back in hopes of getting a camper

it’s my first life so trying to narrow it down

want to keep it somewhat level, only going to run 265

886 for heavy weight in the front, like steel bumper + winch. This is what I run.

In the rear I have a heavy duty custom leaf pack that is pretty overkill. I ended up having to remove the overload leaf from the pack to level the truck out.

The Headstrong package to me seems to be the best way to go unless you want to tweak your stuff, but you have to ask for 886 coils.

If you aren't ever plan to run anything bigger than 265.. id go with a spring that will sag a little if you put a little weight to it.. if not you are gonna look like you skipped leg day.. I have 887s with an aluminum bumper planning on a winch... it' may drop a little but I know 886s would be too stiff. So far my 887s haven't sagged and they are 7 yrs old..my dakars are 7 yrs old as well they may have dropped slightly but if they have its not noticeable.. I also don't have a lot of constant weight on them.
