Yeah I do usually get lots of different vibrations especially with mud tires, but this one came with a noise I'd like to believe was connected. If it's bad again today, then I'm just going to take it to the dealership and see what they say. I'm almost sure it is the center support bearing, but I'm no mechanic. The one piece driveshaft would be nice, but $$$.

Yeah because I didn't maintain mine properly :anonymous: other than that I love it, a new Tom Woods right now is $678 and the shipping is only $10 still I believe

Yeah I’ve heard they can solve a lot of problems. It would probably be on my never ending list of things I would like, but I’m not sure how much longer I’ll have this truck around and I’ve had some expensive maintenance bills lately.

    Yeah.
On my 2012, the rubber part of my center support bearing went bad at about 90K miles. Symptoms sound similar, but mine was easy to identify by just getting under the truck and wiggling the driveshaft. It had plenty of easy play. Unfortunately or fortunately I saw my current truck on the lot when I went in to the dealer to get the special staked nut you need to replace it, and they gave me a killer deal.

Hey all, another specific question: how is Woolum Ford? I watched a video and seemed no big deal, but also read several reviews that said it was waist deep and difficult. Anyone been there and done that? Is it real? Google maps doesn't show it through however: DeLorme and the NFS Ozark maps do show it as a road.

    upload_2022-3-16_20-28-28.jpg

Just found the NPS site and there is posted a road closure to Woolum, so never mind...

If I'm thinking correctly, any lift in the rear would slightly change the angle at the carrier bearing. Obviously, a one-piece driveshaft fixes that, but you might try the carrier bearing drop before you drop the coin.

    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p126/Old_Man_Emu_Carrier_Bearing_Drop_Kit_-_FK29.html

Dropping the whole carrier would help to straighten out that change in angle from the lift and could possibly alleviate the vibration. It's a pretty cheap thing to try, at least. YMMV

I found a broken leaf in driver side leaf spring pack yesterday and Toyota wants over 700 for a new one. Would anyone happen to have a set of slightly used leaf packs they want to sell or a recommendation of a decent aftermarket?

I've got a set off my third gen that had about 30k miles on them when they came off the truck, they do have 1.5" lift add-a-leaf packs on them but those could be removed easy enough. I've just been tripping over them in my shop for the last two years, would sell them pretty cheap. I'm in Rogers.

I do agree with this and was a direction I was going; however, from the reading I have done the issue is when the truck experiences axle wrap due to the weakish springs it induces the vibration because the angle is off. Axel shims seem to alleviate this and help with the angles during the 'wrap'. I thought OP said he had new springs, so I may be off here. This is why I went with the shaft, as the nickel and dime, try this, try that was going to get close to the cost of the shaft. It is a rabbit hole... I fixed my problem and then made another similar one with a different fix. Never ends...

Anytime after 2 today, do you want to pull the add-a-leafs out of the packs? I'll PM you my address.

    That's also very true.

I'm tempted to go with a Pro if I decide to get into a new tundra in the next couple years. I've learned that playing with suspension stuff really does just open up a can of worms :anonymous::rofl:
