I prefer the hellcats over the Kestrels personally. As you mentioned the kestrels are pretty narrow and quite a bit stiffer (that's what she said). Which on the bike it's kinda nice but my retarded feet dislike. I've done lots of hike a bike sessions in both and Hell cats are my go to unless they are soaked.

For freeriders are pretty money for Dirt jumping and just around town.

Now many pairs of Five tens is too many ? N + 1?

Look on pink bike in the buy sell section tons of deals for used or like new shoes.

I’m just glad to see some cool stuff built in Alabama. We have awesome state parks and now a reason to buy a BMX or DJ.

Looking at that collection, i`m going to ask the question. I have the Five Ten Freerides and really like them. They`re wide enough for my feet and flexible enough to comfortably hike a bike. The Kestrals are way too narrow for me and i would prefer a more flexible sole. I called Adidas since all their shoes are listed as `regular fit` and they were useless directing me to which clip in shoe would be most similar in fit to the Freeride. Have you had Trailcross? They also look narrow, but sound like they`d be the most flexible. Is the Hellcat wide like the Freeride?

    Yeah.
Yeah, the Kestrels are not flexible like the 5.10's for flats and are much stiffer. But, they are not nearly as stiff as the typical hard plastic soled shoes and at least have a little bit of grip with the rubber soles. I was comparing them mainly to the typical hard-soled shoes. As the other poster noted, Shimano makes some softer-soled shoes as well -- I've tried some, but they don't feel right for me. Must be kind of like helmets -- some brands feel right, others you can never get comfortable in.

I haven't had the trail cross. But I'd say the Hellcats are similar to the freerides fit wise but with stiffer soles.

Never been to Tallahassee, Tom Brown? I think it is. I hear good things about it, but its a long drive.

Google search seems to be a bit better - maybe my safe search was off. :anonymous:

Also placed an order for a hat - hope this doesnt mean I need to dust off the running shoes.

Not really a question for you but why would SORBA hold a conference in Florida? Thats the equivalent of holding a surf expo in Missouri.

Edit: Tallahassee is a great college town though!
