Relocating stock air box

It was built without airflow equipment in mind obviously. If any modifications were to be made to that brace I would cut that side in have, radius each half, and weld in a tube that would allow for me to run the tubing through it. The idea hereis to solve the problem without having to take it to that level. As for why its not angled forward? Dont hae an answer for that, not sure why i would want it angled forward.

Maybe relocating the windshield wiper fluid and putting it there... O and removing that Carbon Filter on those new TRD CAI is really easy.

 

With that brace your really quite limited (like you didn't know that already). How about getting a sheet of aluminum and fabbing up your own box? You could cut and bend it, then either rivet and seal it, or get someone to weld it up. I wouldn't think a bit a welding would cost that much if you've already done the bending.

You can also find aluminum tubing on eBay that you can fab your own box to TB tube, along with some silicone connectors.

 

Right now I am planning on getting that company Oswego posted to make me a custom box off a cardboard template.

 

How big is that middle dimple? Reason I ask is because it looks like you could get an exhast shop to run a pipe through it and use the stock box and if the dimple isn't big enough make it so and maybe reinforce it with a plate behind it. Aren't you going to need some sort of piping for the snorkel anyways?
