Try lubing the mechanism on your neutral safety switch. I`ve got a 2013 four cylinder auto and it started doing this. Eventually threw a code. Climbed underneath and sprayed penetrating spray on the mechanism. Have someone run it through the gear motion( engine off of course). My switch is mounted on the passenger side of the tranny. Later on had a new switch put on at the dealer. if you have a modicum of mechanical capability you could replace it yourself. Mine happened in midwinter so I had the dealer replace it. No problems for over four years.

I have some solvents sitting around in my garage, used that on a rag and wiped down the inside of each door.

Yeah, that SAIP issue is semi-common and some dealers will fix it under some recall or other. I just don’t have easy access to a dealer to drop it off for however long it would take. Both the pump and the solenoid valves are pretty cheap and easy to replace with just a 10mm socket and a torx bit. Far as I can tell, it was just my pump and the valves are still operating.

Which also leads to my next point. I live in a remote part of the Caribbean with a lot of intense sun, hence the paint issues. Most of the cars down here that aren’t garaged have the same issue. Living in a less harsh climate and/or garaging the truck would have stopped it. But, other than air pump issue, which is really just an annoyance, the truck has had zero problems in 42k miles. One of my TPMS sensors did just die last week, which is another stupid system I could live without. I may just disconnect it. I expect this truck to last me another good 10 years, at which point my oldest son will get it.

do you have a link to the material you used? I want to do speakers at some point, figure I’d do the sound deadening at the same time.

For me, I used Noico and did the same with wiping the inside of the door down with a degreaser. Used a heat gun to heat up the Noico and applied it with the roller.

When I did mine, I just wiped some alcohol over everything and then slapped it in place, rolling it down with a roller into crevices. Then I put the foam deadener over the top of it and slapped the door panels and rear panel back in place. I did the same with the roof, and will do the same with the floor and suicide doors when I get antsy this summer.

Actually, at least for me and whatever label suits my personality lol....that wouldn't bother me because that makes sense in my mind...as long as the rear was the one that switched on downward ("toward" the back)

So your truck never went into limp mode when the pump went out?

Nah. I know which is which, and the labels aren't visible unless you're looking for them, anyway.

It did, luckily about a mile from AutoZone. Was able to buy a OBDii reader and reset, and never went back into limp mode despite the CEL coming back on.

Now that my bed platform is finished I need to relocate my bed light switch since the old spot is the bed cubbie and will now be under the plywood. Im thinking about just cutting a hole in the side of the bed and mounting a recessed cubbie in there? Any suggestions on the relocation? Id like it protected and out of the way
