I haven’t seen it since they expanded but I seen it prior to that and it was pretty small. Only having 10 campers on the floor at a time, when there back log is in the hundreds seems like there is still some optimizing that needs to happen. I think limiting options would help with that

I’ll admit that I’ve complained a lot on this thread and of course I wish the lead times weren’t as long as they are, however, I think the options that VO offers are what sets them apart from a lot of the other campers on the market. Sure, options could be added later on, but I know I wouldn’t want to be making cuts on a camper that cost me thousands of dollars and that I had to wait years for. It seems like VO has actually started pumping out campers at a faster rate after promising to make improvements for the last two years. Let’s see how they continue as I’m personally feeling pretty positive this go around.

100% cool with it taking longer and giving me options.

If I wanted to overpay for a barebones camper I’d buy a GFC.

We have been talking about the same 10 campers since January and one has been delivered. Wouldn’t say they are pumping them out. I’m hopeful things gets better and PROVE to be better.

doesn’t change my mind that there are too many options. I’m only 16 months into my wait and I’m terrified that my wait is going to double before I get mine.

I think we both agree that the drifter base and gfc are not the same. But having 4-5 window options and rear door options and awning options etc slows down the process. Especially when 1 or 2 of those options are the most popular/best options. So optimizing those options would allow vagabond to order these things in larger quantities.

    it’s just my .02

We are on the same page. If everything was in stock and ready and wasn’t ordered specifically per camper, that’d help too. I also think once they get enough rear doors/custom options down like clockwork, that’ll speed things up. I opted for no rear door just to save time on my build, and get other builds started quicker.

My frustration is a little high tonight, as I am working out my July plans to visit glacier NP for 2 weeks and have to plan on not having it.

Hope it gets done in time for you. I visited Glacier NP when I had mine and it was perfect since it was constantly raining! I went in July and Going to the Sun Road wasn’t fully open…I wish I went in August. Don’t want to clutter the thread though, hope the best.

Yeah. It’s definitely frustrating. I reached about the awning in October, plenty of lead time. IMO this is just continued evidence of all the issues highlighted in this thread. Been 29? Months since my order. Hang in there, it’s not fun staring this in the face.

I think the options thing was true when VO first started but several other companies now offer tern and/or Frontrunner products as well as fans and canvas window options. I know Topo Toppers offers almost everything VO does, AT has a plethora of options as well. I presume Enduro Campers will soon as well.

I do think what sets VO apart now is that they offer a variety of each option (i.e. multiple options for windows and fans).

Edit to add: my $50 offer still valid for any info regarding build #193. I need the camper by June lmao

Good(ish) news. Finally spoke with Phil about my camper build (#193). He said that the laser cut guy will give him a delivery date on Tuesday and will get back to me then.

Unfortunately, I heard a similar reply back in January. Fingers crossed though. I had a calendarly thing set up today and he texted me during that time so sounds like it’s progress.

Will update if I hear back next week.

    235 late spring? Of 2023?

Edit: Typed this right when I woke up and didn’t mean to sound pessimistic, more enthusiastic cause that means 60 some campers would be knocked out

I sure as hell hope that's something they can stick to. All I want is to get and enjoy my Drifter for a bit while we're still child-free.

No, I got that same invoice update with a "late spring start" for our build which at this point means jack shit. I'm not paying or getting excited until I have a date to schedule pickup.

Excited to see movement with the order…When the invoice was sent he said “to begin in late spring”, after I asked about delivery he quoted an early summer anticipated delivery. I did add a lot of options and with supply challenges afraid I may have set the stage for delays; hoping they can get what they need to make the delivery date.
