for us bc wear white . I used to ride up for fill in , but like my life on the right seat.
Captains have red
Firefighter where yellow
De have yellow with red chevrons

 

We wore black helmets, captains wore red, chief had a white one.

Chief Officers wear White
Captains wear Yellow
Engineers wear Black
Everyone else wears Red.

The nice thing is this system matches the paid fire department to our west, and the 3 volunteer departments that surround us that we call for mutual aid so when you're on scene you know who's who. And I'll never give up hose time. After that video was taken I ditched my vest and grabbed a line and some tools and went to work. The day I show up and not do anything is the day I need to retire.

DST is cool because I like the extra daylight hours at the end of the day. Of course if we left it that way I feel like it would be weird to always be on the 'wrong' time, so standard time is cool, because well, it's standard.

Ideally we would stick with standard time, and everyone would start conducting business one hour earlier.
