35's scrubbing with 6" lift-

I have a ProComp Stage II 6" lift on my '07 Dbl. Cab 4x4. The front tires scrub too often! I do not want to do any trimming.

Is it possible to take the upper OEM shock mount "bushing" and put on top of the ProComp? I'm not looking for serious off-roading or a huge lift. I just would like to eliminate some scrubbing. Any Ideas?

i think your gonna have to do some trimming. wheres it rubbing? the uca, body mount?

 

Bottom of fenders near the outer edge when I turn.

I hate to, but I may just have to drop some $$$$$ on some 33's.

 

I'm running Pro Comp Xtreme AT's now.

I'll "play" with it tomorrow, but I hate to trim unless it's a last resort.

 

Could someone post a pic where they have trimmed.

 

You're not gonna be trimming sheet metal or anything. It's not gonna be like butchering your fenders. It'll most likely be some plastic inside the fenderwell.

 

Its the tiniest bit ever, you won't even notice!

 

The best I can remember is if I have the tires turned all the way to the right, then the inside of the front right tire rubs the front of the fender. And the outer rear of the tire will scrub as well.

I don't think I am scrubbing any further to the inside. So I would have to trim the bottom of the fender flares like /o\ .

I hope I am wrong. I'll check today. I don't mind trimming the inner fender if that's all it takes.

Would I be able to mount a top plate spacer up front. I've seen some that give about 3/4" lift. Would they work with my ProComp's?

 

I'm getting my 3 inch lift put on Monday with some Dune Grappler 33's and I'm sure they will have to do some trimming. I don't want to take off my front mud guards but I'm sure they will have to come off.

 

my mudguards are gone! It did not look good to me with a wide tire and narrow mudguard..

 

Hey Rippin101. Are you running 33's?

 

Stay with the 35's...
Start with a new razor knife blade, steady hand, very easy to do.

After trimming about 2" I have zero rubbing. If you notice I cut at slight angle to maintain the integrity of the inner fender liner... so it does not flap going down the road.

 

Hey blackout.....what size rims and tires are running? Also, do they have an offset on them?

 

rutwad- you have a procomp stage 2? well dont their coilovers have a threaded body to them that you can use to add a little bit more lift to the front and then do some minor trimming on the plastic inner fenders? i think that would be pretty easy and then you wouldnt be trimming too much if thats your concern.

Yes, stage 2 and it's adjusted all the way up.

I went out and turned the wheel to the right. The rear of the right tire is super close to the body mount. The left front wheel will touch the inner fender.

So trimming it is.....!
