I guess I should not be surprised at anything this idiotic State does anymore.... but - Golf carts have to be registered in California now? And since when are they street legal anyway??

Then again, they are all electric, and that is exactly what our State morons are forcing everything towards.

I live under 1 mile from a golf course. People around here drive them all the time. With or without plates.

I know that is pretty common in many states, that people will drive them on city streets for short trips, take the risk of possibly getting caught. I just had never seen any that had an official DMV license plate before.

"bad" is fairly subjective when talking about what it is like living in CA. I won't risk a political ban hammer, but I will just say I am very much on the Red end of the political spectrum, about 180* out of line with most things the people at the State Capitol enact every day/week/month/year for the last 30+ years now. That's why my wife and I, her parents, and her brother are all leaving for a much more compatible state this year.

Rexing front and rear dash camera, some LEDs, Weathertech HP floor liners/vent shades/bug deflector/underseat storage bin, OEM Ford bed mat, Diode Dynamics SS3 Pros in selective yellow, Diode Dynamics 18" light bar in amber and universal Carhartt seat covers. Bak Revolver X4S tonneau cover. Android Auto USB plug upgrade! H11 to H9. Sound deadened/insulated floors and rear wall. VLED license plate reverse light. Yokohama GO15s. Rokblokz mud flaps. "Custom" 3in Flowmaster Super 50 Series cat back. J&L catch can. AMP Powersteps
Maybe not golf carts we have right now but maybe if improved upon it could be a viable option.

Pretty sure no seat belts, open cabin (arms are not contained in the event of a rollover), no airbags (not going to be going that fast though), I'm pretty sure the roofs might need to be beefed up, no crumple zones, no heat or a/c, possibly a little top heavy and no abs or traction control. I wouldn't be surprised if the aerodynamics are atrocious but can still be improved.

I guess for short trips they would be great but not for long term trips or for traveling fast.
