    The gas can leak out without any loss of oil. One place is the Schrader valve on the resiviour, but can also leak past internal seals. If it's a rear shock remove the lower shock mount from the axle. Push the rod into the shock. If it doesn't extend it's self out or is real-real slow and doesn't fully extend the nitrogen gas is low. Just a starting point...

    Figured I'd add some pics of my install after I cleaned it up a bit.

    The rear drivers side reservoir was a little tight to mount since there's a bunch of stuff behind the frame there. There is already a hole right there but I wanted it to look cleaner/similar to the other side. I just checked the clearance by touch by sticking my hand in there. I was able to stick my hand in from the back to put in the washer and nut once I had the hole drilled. If your hands are too big, find someone with little hands.

    After 15 months of going back and forth and asking many of you for advice on different suspension set ups for my 2021 Tacoma TRD OR, I finally pulled the trigger. I wanted a mild lift that would have good road manners both on and off-road but not ride like a covered wagon. I had had many Old Man Emu set ups over the years on my different Landcruisers but choose a different route this time going with Dobinsons based off of this thread and communication with Mike at Exit Offroad.

    Details are as follows:
    * C59-314 Front Coils
    * IMS59-5022 Adjustable Monotube IFP Front Struts
    * GS59-940 Rear Shocks
    * Used set of ICON Progressive Add-a-Leaf rear springs w/overload spring in place.
    * Tire size: 285/75/16 BFG AT/KO2's
    * Wheels: 2021 OEM TRD Pro wheels

    I kept the factory UCA's and was still able to get really good positive caster and dead on toe and camber alignment with no rubbing. No vibrations and tracks perfectly down the road. I have things set up to have 2" of lift all the way around keeping factory rake. At some point I will upgrade to Dobinsons full rear leaf pack but wanted to baby step into things. So far I'm very happy.

    A VERY big thank you to Mike at Exit Offroad for answering my questions and helping me along the way! Good customer service is hard to find these days and Mike was always quick to reply and gave clear advice based off of my needs/goals.

    See it's really easy to avoid putting suspension on the 17 OR DCSB that I picked up two weeks ago... Then you go and do a perfect write-up like this with an excellent picture and now... I have to sit here and think about it because that looks really good. And of course, Mike is second to none when it comes to suspension and customer service

    Just watched this video about extended/mid travel struts on Toyota IFS.
    Now I am wondering if the Dobinsons IMS extend the front travel. When I installed mine I had to separate the lower control arm from the knuckle in order to get them in but had no problems getting the stock struts out.
    Anyone have actual dimensions?

    The IMS are extended travel. They're the same as the GS59-220 struts while regular travel is the GS59-221 struts.
    18mm more travel at full extension over the 221's, so that's about 36mm (1.4") extra down travel at the wheel.

    Agreed. The only complaint I've heard about his flat speaking. But I love that he is focused just on the facts and is able to demonstrate exactly what he is talking about.

    And there's no fluff in the videos. That's my biggest turn off to any technical or showcase vid.

    When guys shoot straight facts, like this guy or @Crikeymike it makes everyone's lives a little easier

    @Crikeymike do you know how much more travel the IMS59-50220 shock has compared to the stock Bilstein or Hitachi front shock? I see that the recommended spring perch setting is specified per vehicle. Is this the only position it should be used in or is it the stock height position?

    I couldn't find any extended or compressed lengths on exitoffroad.com or dobinson's website/catalog.
