    I have:
Front-5100 set at 4 Stock springs
    Bilstein UCA
    Rear-Deaver U402 Stg1 w/5100s

I tow a small trailer w/RRT attached. I have a Smartcap on the truck. This set up for me is perfect on/off road.

suspension is by need and performance. Some for looks. It is really up to your needs not wants. Regardless doing it right the first time is important. Once you find a baseline for your needs you can tweak your system to get the most out of it.

Watch the video. The Tinkerer will be doing a Tacoma video soon. I asked him if would and here is his comments:

    Good Luck and have fun.

What is your planned use of the truck?
This will determine the level of lift you want to get.
265/70R17 should fit on a stock truck. No lift needed.

I was thinking about doing the OME setup from headstrong with the 886 since it seems the 888 and 887 are sagging with 3rd gen

it’s going to be a camping vehicle most likely so was thinking about getting dakars since I’ll probably have a heavy back setup

but I do want it somewhat level

any thoughts on 886 and Dakar?

Again just do 265/75/16's and be done with it. If you find that you need a lift then do it. But having to do lift + needle bearing + possibly UCA is a bunch of cash for light off-roading and camping.

EDIT: Do 265/75/16's and full skids and you'll be set for a while.

Agreed. You can wheel stuff that most never touch with just tires and a skid.

you also do NOT need a diff drop with a 3rd Gen. Unnecessary

diff drop was more popular with the 2nd gens it seems. I had one on my 3rd Gen with the lift I had at the time and all it does is slightly rotate the dive so the CV angles seem to be a little less. However it rotated lubricant away from an area and created a weird faint vibe. So I took it out and it’s been great since.

most lifts under 2.5” don’t have too bad of cv angles anyways. A boot stretch mod fixes this easily…

the CB drop is a debatable subject. I recommend axle shims before CB drop, but others argue it as a quick fix for vibes. It wasn’t so for me after 2 different lifts

I suggest keeping the diff where it is

Don't drop the diff but do replace the needle bearing with the ECGS bushing

CB drop is dropping the carrier bearing to change the angle of the front driveshaft…to avoid vibes. I still recommend axle shims for this
