Are you gonna make 2 trips to storage or just wait for the other box to show up before you go?

I love laser cuts; these pieces are really nice and thick too!

    Assembly instructions look simple enough.

And to answer your question Jaxon, I'll be welding it up here at the shop once the rest of the stuff arrives:welder:

After the bumper gets done, we'll need @BartMaster1234 to get over here so we can redo his sliders

Those laser cuts mean you can basically just fit up and weld too.

    No cleanup required :woot:

Oh dude I love the laser cut stuff we get for our work pieces.

We got jigs for a lot of stuff but sometimes it doesn't make sense to drill so many holes and stuff. Especially since pieces don't always cut to the exact same length or angle.

Here's some of the stuff we use.

    Everything else we make ourselves.

    Nice!

Water jet is pretty damn cool too, but it seems like it’s maybe not used as much.

Are you gonna get a plasma cutter and table at some point?

    Definitely!

Except I may have to get a large nitrogen tank too to maintain some level of noise and space in the garage. I don't want to have a large air compressor that'll only be used once in a blue moon.

As for a table, my wife is cool with it but wanted to help in no way once she saw the price

Though if I want one she's not opposed to it!

I heard it make awful noises when I decided to put weight on them

    Hell yeah!

I’d love to at least get a plasma someday, but I don’t know if I’ll ever have the space for a table. If I did, the nerd in me would love to build my own CNC setup :D

A good plasma cutter can be had for under $1k, with the ability to cut 1/2" steel. Keep in mind you can also cut aluminum and stainless steel as well.

It's just the cost of admission when you add an air compressor that it gets expensive. But again, the compressor will serve as double duty to power other tools.

Have you seen @koditten thread? He's building his own cnc plasma setup. A bit too much for me which is why I'd rather cough up the $6-8k to buy a kit instead (if I had the funds that is)

Its posts like these that make me miss working in a machine shop with access to 6 axis waterjets, tube lasers and any and all CNC machining capability I could ask for, all for a case of beer to the shop techs.

Made a few truck projects so dang easy!

    Oh I bet!

I'm just grateful that I work at a fab shop where I can weld up my bumper, or anything else I want/need.

Otherwise I would've had to wait for our house to close and then buy a MIG welder; that or I could stick weld it since I just bought a TIG welder.

Then I can do side shit like CMC's :welder:

First time I've towed with the Land Cruiser!

I've towed a bit the Tacoma, and a shit ton of times with my Silverado and Tahoe years ago, so it's been years.

I love the low end torque on this thing; both empty or full it never felt like I was carrying anything behind us.

    20220319_103229.jpg

Now I know why Zane tows that big enclosed trailer all the time

What's funny is, I got a better idea of how my suspension is supposed to 'feel'. My OME rears still have some life left, but I'm sure they're meant to carry a heavier load than stock cause I always found the ride rough until I towed today.

Fortunately, my Dobinson rears just shipped so I hope I get those on right away.

On another note, soon as we got back my Weathertech rear mat had just been delivered.

    20220319_133836.jpg

Just need to order new passenger seat leather to get rid of the 50 shades of grey I got going on.
