What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Is this what your using in a garden sprayer? I have lived in snow my whole life, but took a 2k mile trip through Canada this winter and I have washed the truck three times and I am still finding salt and just watching new rust spots pop up

I love the GFC! There is a guy local selling one for my truck and I have been pitching the sale to my wife for a week....I've made little to no progress.

 

I’m lucky… My wife loves the RTT (though I think she misses the space of the huge cvt we had before this - I don’t miss the wrestling match that was getting that thing in and out of its cover)

Girlfriend wanted to buy something for the truck so I gave her some options and she chose to buy some sound deadening and closed cell foam. So next week I'll be taking the interior out and laying some on the back wall and doors for starters. She will be out of town all week so I'll have her car which means I can start to tackle a lot of the projects that have been building up since I wont need to drive the truck to work everyday.

 

What type of spare tire carrier are you running?

 

Highly recommend doin the floor as well especially since you have a back up car. A week is a perfect amount of time to knock this out

 

She ordered 2 boxes of each so we will see how much I'll left over to hit other spots.

Did you notice a big difference after doing the roof? After doing just my doors I’m not noticing that big of a difference.

 

I would start with the floor and back wall then. That way you can always do the doors later when you get more and not have to pull the seats again. Its been a couple years but I think you should be good to start with 2 boxes. Have fun, this is a very tedious project, but very much worth it in my opinion

 

That's a good point! I don't really want to pull the seats and carpet more then once if I don't have to! Rear seats are already out so the fronts and center shouldn't take me to long. After taking a road trip in her Escape I started to get jealous of how quite it is in there so this was bound to happen sooner or later. It would also help if I got new tires too, Mine are getting down there and LOUD AF.

 

Restored all the black plastic around the truck with Car Guys Plastic Restore. Great product, plastic all looks brand new. I even did multiple coats on the roof rubber strips which were always super hard to get any color back and it worked really well.

I was told to do the floor but opted not to for the pita factor and regret it. That said, it’s not magic stuff. The taco is loud.

 

whats the difference between sound deadening and close cell?

 

Sound deadening is for vibrations and sound and Closed cell foam is for heat/cold as well as sound.
