Dodge has always had the best color code names for purple, like Hellraisin and Plum Crazy Purple.

Green cars are bad luck, but the Electric Lime Green is so radically different than the typical greens that caused the bad luck reputation that maybe it gets a pass?

I feel like everyone will have valid opinions on why they like a particular color. It is very subjective. I bought a white MT TRD Pro partly because the front reminds me of this:

    tacoma_stormtrooper.jpg

I think it looks a bit evil which to me is a positive.

Edit: ^ This is not my truck, just a result of a quick Google search on "White TRD Pro front pic"

Colors (or more unpopular colors) do negatively impact resale value. Lower demand = lower sales price.

Personally, I have always liked a white DCSB Tacoma. But given the Market right now and how hard it is to find/get a Pro 6MT I would take any color really. That being said i have found 2 allocations where i live for a PRO 6MT unsold. a White one and a Black one. The sad part of the whole thing is 2 weeks ago I gave up trying to find a 6MT and put a deposit down on an Electric Lime auto that a dealer had coming in right away ETA April 4-9. that same dealer just got allocated a 6MT in White ETA 05 25-31 which is my first choice. I only found this out because another dealer i was talking to before called me and said they got an allocation for a Black 6MT
PRO, same ETA. I told them I already put a deposit down on a Lime Auto.

The crazy part is they said no problem buy the Lime auto and you can trade it in when the 6MT comes in. They even offered me more then MSRP for the Lime auto. I may reach out to my dealer that sold me the Lime auto and see if they will do the same as I would prefer the White that they have coming in. But i think once I say that the other toyota dealer will pay me XXXX on the one I have even got yet they may say Sorry we wont sell you either.

I agree with this as well. Currently the most popular colors are blacks, whites, silvers and grays. Those are safe bets. When you get into some of the out of the box colors, they will divide peoples opinions. Some people will hate it (Would not buy it unless it was really cheap). Some will love it (Pay more for that color).

The upside on non typical colors is that you won't see them as often, however if you figure that 50% love it and 50% hate it, you might be eliminating half of your potential buyers down the road.

any chance you can get that deposit back? There are quite a few guys on here that went AT > 6MT and haven't looked back. If you're already trying to get the 6MT and you haven't bought the AT yet, probably best to get the 6MT while you can.

Where do you live? There have been exactly zero sitting on dealer lots in Utah since I started looking in August.

I may do that. I hope this doesn’t sound bad but if I can make a little buy getting the auto and drive it for a month or 2 then trade on the 6MT why not? Dealers wanna charge market adjustments all the time with their add ons marked up 300% I figured if I could make a little why not.

it doesn't sound bad, and money's money so it's hard not to look at it that way.... but what if the 6MT gets away? Not worth the risk if you really want the stick. Otherwise you're stuck with the AT

I read on another discussion thread where I guy was upside down by $5k in a Hyundai and he ordered a new Bronco. The one he ordered was without the tow package which is currently what there are delays on due to unavailability. Anyhow, his Bronco came in after 3 months, he traded the Hyundai. He then sold the Bronco to Carvana for $9k more than he paid. That ate up all the negative equity from the Hyundai. He then proceeded to order another Bronco without the tow package with plans to repeat. I believe this guy did have a high mileage beater car to drive as well.

Seems like this might work on the Lime Green TRD Pro. You may want to check with Carvana before you trade. They seem to be paying out good for unique vehicles
