Few at current but right now VR is still in the clunky "Hobby" phase; you have to want to tinker and spend time on it to get the most out of it and enjoy it.

It will be some time before it's pick up and go streamlined and easy like a console experience but I have no doubts that VR/mixed reality is the way of the future.

I want to be an early adopter as one I'm already having an absolute blast with VR and two maybe it will give me an edge in V-E-Sports. :notsure:

Can't wait for something like Arma in VR.

Agreed in general. My walls are 'perfect smooth' which did become a complete pita and takes forever but looks good if it ever gets finished...

Arma in VR would be awesome!

I'd even like to see some older FPS in VR, like HALO.

I can't imagine the cash cow re-doing old school games in VR will be. I'm sure the gaming companies are thinking about this already, just waiting for the tech to catch up and be mainstream enough to truly capitalize on it.

sorry to keep this thread off topic.

I need me one of those bungee setups and DOOM Eternal VR. What a workout that'd be.

Kinda sorta segue back to topic, that's why this room is also considered my "home gym", and why I'm going all out on the paint as it needs to hold up a bit, beat saber will kick your ass.

Yup! Already picked them and the trim plates up.

I got that same stool, it's pretty bad ass.

Never had popcorn ceilings before. Today had to repaint my girlfriends dining room/kitchen ceiling. She had a upstairs leak and it left some water marks. Now I know why everyone hates them. Most of the popcorn stuck to the roller. Shit was flying all over the floor and on me. Never had such a terrible experience painting before. I thought it was more durable than what it is.

We are in the process of closing on a new home and I decided to look at the pics again to see what kinda of ceilings it had. Some type of texture but not the same looking styrofoam popcorn crap that’s in her rental. Fortunately they paint is pretty flawless in the new home and everything is pretty much all new/remodeled. Hopefully won’t need to do a ton of painting minus the baby’s room and the basement we are gonna finish. After this I’ll probably hold off the on the ceilings as long as possible, or just pay a professional. What a nightmare.

Spraying a popcorn ceiling is the only way to do it. After one house with popcorn ceilings I will never own another.

I have a sprayer and after typing that I was wondering if that would be better. Just sucks because sprayers make a mess too, at least the one I have

Yeah went with the Ben over Regal select. Figured it'd need two coats of either anyways so may aswell go with the cheaper stuff. 2 coats covered it real well.

I had 1,500 sq feet of stained asbestos popcorn and a new baby on the way. It took me all day to mask the entire house and about 2 hours to paint with a rented professional sprayer. I tried rolling a section and quickly gave up because of the problems you were having. But, there's no way around the fact that popcorn sucks.

The 3M hand masker is the MVP for paint masking. It places the tape and plastic simultaneously, then the plastic unfolds to be up to around 100" tall. Makes masking walls or windows a couple minute operation. It isn't cheap, but saves time, frustration, and money. Probably the top of the list for what I should have got earlier for painting.

How it is: so it shall be.

It ain't perfect but looks pretty damn good to me!

Even did the floor and still have a half gallon left to hit the bare spots and touch ups here and there.

    PXL_20220318_051924420.jpg

Checked on it this morning dried out it looks great.

    PXL_20220318_153744936.jpg

Not planning on stepping foot in there for a few days though, keeping the door closed and letting it dry nice and slow.

Thanks again y'all for all the paint advice!

Though I do have a new question, what to do for flooring?

I need something that will be kind to my reconstructed knee while jumping around in VR.

As I found running millions of tiny circles in there remodeling 1/8th of linoleum directly over polished concrete ain't so kind to the legs.

I was thinking horse stall mat but I might want something more permanent?

Need soft and plush with shock absorption, where do I even begin?
