Went to fill my truck (04 v6 4x4) up tonight, sat in my truck while it was filling up, looked over and BAM! 18.57 gallons!

I thought it was only a 15.8 gallon tank. What the fuck?!? Every time I've filled it up over the past year+ it takes just over 16 gallons (which I can understand). But 18.57???

Am I high or am I missing something? Or both?

obviously its not a 15.8 gallon tank if youve been filling up just over 16 for the past year...

It would be a 20 gallon tank, cause you say you always put in 16 gallons. And I'm guessing that you don't run it until it completely runs out of gas correct?

    stock, for now
bone dry is 15.8 gallons..Add in the filler neck, is probably another 3 gallons. Sounds like your tank was packed as full as it could get.

9 out of 10 times I run that fucker until the needle is pointing due south (average 280-290 miles a tank).

Every time I check the specs they say 15.8. Add a gallon or so for the neck and I can see mid 16 ...

That's crazy! Instead of using the milk jug, you can always check with your lawn mower cans. I fill those up so much in the summer, I would know if they were short changing me.
