Are they in scale with the shuttle? If so that would be a good addition on display.

I recently watched (most) of a video on instrument training on T-38s on YT.

 

The official lego Shuttle is approximately 1:70, the T-38s are 1:110 that matches the Saturn V.

I have the instructions and parts for a 1:110 shuttle but display space is limited at this time.

I do have grand plans for one that will come to fruition in the mid-distant future

 

Time to do some lego! My now wife got this for me for our day of wedding gift. Glad she knows I'm still a kid inside

 

I almost got myself that set...instead I ordered the Countach, Evija, and Supra.

 

Very easy build, no stickers on yet because I'm always hesitant about their placement until it's done.

 

And again, very similar to the first. Quick and easy, nice and intuitive to put together. I still wish the sticker decals were printed on the pieces, rather than futzing around with tiny stickers trying to get them "close enough"

Round two, turns out the wife got two sets by accident and decided she wanted some peace and quiet tonight. Works for me!

 

Not my cup o’ tea but if you spend $150 or more at Lego stores they give you this limited edition set. Think I’ll give it to the niece, encouraging the next generation of Lego Maniacs.

Had a near death experience with this one. I had it all done and when I went to put it on the shelf, I dropped it. The way the two wings attach to the main house is kinda flimsy.The only parts to break were the two wings, the main section was fine. Some of the pieces didn't break and I didn't have to rebuild them, but I did tear down the wings to the base and start over.

 

Can't wait to see the actual finished piece. This looks really great.

 

Had a similar experience with mine; both wings fell off moving it to the shelf. In hindsight, I even though about removing the wings immediately beforehand. Thankfully, I was able to fit the chunks back together without a complete teardown. That set was a pretty fun build.

Do the anchors drop realistically?

 

Alas, they do not. Definitely went for form over function

 

I was curious because I saw the chains.

 

Made an anchor windlass and draped chains over them, but they and the anchors are fixed. Did the same thing with my steamship. It's all about the detail, ya know?

 

I have to ask: what is the price tag on a custom build like this?

 

Buy now, look at the price never.
