He's in a bad funk and Sullivan isn't the patient sort. He has already been moved off of the 2nd line and playing on a 3rd or 4th line is not conducive to his skills.

I agree. Gotta think his stock is pretty low though. So not sure what the return would be. I'd almost wonder if it'd be better to just ride it out and hope he catches fire. But like you said, Sulli doesnt seem to operate that way lol.

 

The thing is, the playoffs are coming. Hopefully Zucker and McGinn will be back. So, is it better to trade him and get what you can or possibly scratch him come playoff time and then try to trade him in the offseason? That would lower his stock maybe more. I can't see him in the top nine if those two are back.

 

I'm not sure how Zucker is any more deserving than Kap? Thry are both equally disappointing. And really either of those guys could realistically play 2nd-3rd line. McGinn will get a spot but he can play anywhere in the bottom of the line-up. I have no idea what they will do. Plus, they have to think about next year, with whatever move they make. A lot of decisions to be made.

 

Maybe push for Alabama to get a hockey team?

Yeah I've always said let the kids get a turn but what concerns me is the others on the heels of eating away at the points if the Kings keep dropping games. It's one thing to work hard and lose they seem to be out of sorts and Kempe and Quick both look like they're playing hurt. I don't know what's Iafallo and Vilarde doing?

 

They signed the Finn that won Gold in the Olympics and they're hoping he clears waivers while sending Mrazek down and trading Dermott to the fishes freed up enough cap for Gio.

Like I said to someone else here, the rumor mill had Dubas wanting a guy who could play #3 minutes on D and Gio does all that and more. Supposedly the Leafs are still talking to teams too but I don't see Dubas having enough assets or space to make a big splash. Maybe Holl and a first for something to good to pass up but I don't think anyone will bite at that and retain salary.

Ya that's a big addition for FL. As long as their goaltending holds up, that's going to be a very tough team to beat.

 

Neither did I, but Kahkonen has really fallen off recently so I'm not completely shocked. I guess the hope is that on a much better team than CHI, MAF is able to get back to closer to what he has been in the past and help win a series in the playoffs. Given what the East is looking like this year, going through the West certainly looks like the easier path so we'll see.

 

I don't think Fleury likes all this moving around. I wonder how much longer he will play?

 

I was under the assumption that this was likely his last year? I never saw anything to confirm that but just with the uncertainty of playing this year for Chicago and his contract is up (I think.) I don't think he likes moving around either but Chicago is a shit-show this year (in more ways than 1) and at least MAF gets another playoff run. But beyond this year, I'm not sure what will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if he calls it quits.
