Looks like 1950 -- Ford purchased Hydramatics from GM in the early 1950s.

Living in NJ we would head for Bergenline Ave. in Union City to eat out on Friday nights. Have you been there?

Wife's family all lived around there in Union Co. I think I saw her uncle's optical store in the video. We lived on Newark Ave. in Elizabeth till we moved to Florida. We would also go to the iron bound section in Newark for Bacalao or Paella

When I first moved there the only place to get any food that tasted like the Mexican Food I knew was in Hoboken. Two guys from Houston TX moved up there and opened a restaurant on Washington Ave.

It seemed like it took a few years before NYC had any good Mexican food in the Village or I lost my taste. It must be better now. Generally, I think it took NYC people a while to become accustomed to piccante. If I cooked everybody said it was "too piccante".

You know it, though I've been stuck on this place called 'Maria's Taco's' out by Kings Canyon. Street style taco's from a little hole in the wall.
