Tacoma production stopping?

I think the new model 2023 is ramping up right now. In mid February I reserved a 2022 from a dealership. It was a truck that was already allocated to the dealership but it had not been built yet. They told me this truck was the last 2022 Tacoma the dealership will receive. My reserved truck was built on February 19th but it will not be delivered until maybe sometime in April. They also said Toyota has brought the 2022 Tacoma production to an end.

 

It's not just Neon gas, Ukraine is one of main producers of Titanium, manganese, nickle and magnesium in the world. Everything used in manufacturing of modern day components.

 

I’m sure they are a bit far out on the orders but I don’t think it’s that extreme. Still got 8+ months left in the year. Dam. 2022 is gonna be a hard year to find in the future.

 

Availability and pricing are likely dependent on what part of the country you are in. The dealership I went to today to pick up some parts had several Tacomas on the lot. Toyota even has ads on TV promoting the Tacomas in this area so who knows. It's a strange time.

 

Take a look at carmax. Seen a few with low miles for under $40k

 

I struggle to understand this. I see truck ads non-stop for trucks that you can’t even /order/ right now. I’m sure they have their reasons. Brand awareness, etc. But it makes little sense to me.

 

Hmmmm I just put a deposit down on a 22' with an ETA of late April.

 

Every dealer near me except Nissan and Jeep are hurting for new cars.

Toyota dealer has absolutely no new Tacomas, Tundras, or really anything Toyota on the lot except for used Tacomas, and maybe a handful of new 4Runners and Corollas. Most of the lot is used Non-Toyotas that they bought off of people to resell.

 

Supply chain issues, about to get worse. It is true.

 

9 Tacomas currently in stock at I 10 Toyota in Palm Desert California. 18 Tacomas in stock at Toyota of the Desert in Cathedral City California. Seems the desert is the place to find a new Toyota Tacoma.

 

And you can’t get a damn thing in the northeast

 

Are people buying the used vehicles?

It's not like it's costing the dealer anything to have used vehicles sit on their lot.

Are dealer's making much money on their used vehicle inventory?

 

Last time I was there which wasn't too long ago, they had someone buying a used Ford. Not sure exactly what sales numbers they are pushing with them. I can't imagine it being too crazy though since they are buying them back at a premium.

 

I guess what they make on the loan is what matters.

I can't see a huge demand for used or new vehicles at the moment. With the way dealeships, and the online retailers had been buying up vehicles, is it paying off?

I had a dealership in PA tell me that they were stopping production of tacomas very soon and then a dealer by me in NJ say end of the year they are stopping. Who knows for sure

 

Yep never make another Tacoma. Also chocolate dipped ice creams are never coming back...

 

Seems way early to be ramping up for 23's, but l doubt there will be much difference from 22 other than maybe a paint color.

 

Scary part is if you get your toy hit and totaled, then you gotta find a new 1
