I buy the prolift jack stands on Amazon now with the locking pin. I also set a floor jack up a few inches below the front crossmember and sit removed wheels under frame rails where I'm not working.

Easy to get complacent about that stuff.

    Good on you

Only reason I don't work on stuff lately is because if I don't have all the necessary stands and whatnot, it ain't worth risking.

I follow the same practices but nothing's safer than wheels on the ground.

I've had my eye on those pinned 6-tons for a while. I'll probably order a set as soon as I get the shipping notification for my Deavers (thee site said 6-week lead time when I ordered... about six weeks ago:fingerscrossed:)

I like the mechanism of these stands but they only come in 3-tons--not tall enough to reach the frame rails at ride height: https://www.amazon.com/Torin-Big-Aluminum-Jack-Stands/dp/B0007XTGCI/

Yeah the luxury of a taller truck over a car doing oil changes and stuff without having to jack it up.

I had the girl I was with for a few months use jack stands and wheel chocks with ramps to do oil changes on her Subaru. Figure if the hard plastic ramps had a failure it would be nice if she didn't die. Still might make her a checklist to go through.

My brain just lost another wrinkle

I've been seeing a lot of 5th gen 4runners that are otherwise stock besides the raptor lights. I've even seen them on a stock suburban

I feel like an old man, I'm all for modifications but that's one I don't get. It's alright, I'm sure people look at my choices and think the same lol. If that's what they want then good on em :)
