If you're tire shop can't balance multiple sets of tires, maybe the problem isn't the tires. I hope that's not the same shop you're trusting to rotate your tires and align your truck. Any tire will get fucked up if it's not rotated/balanced properly

They were brand new Method NV's. It was really just a totally incompetent newly opened branch of a chain tire store that was the issue. And the crap Falken's that weren't round. Once the Toyo's were done with a road force balancer all was good. And the Yoko's were done on a road force machine and were flawless from day 1. If our balancer at work was better I would have done the last set myself. But I mount/balance like 2 sets of tires a year versus the guys that do it every day. And never truck tires. When the toyo's started wearing badly (chopping heavily on the fronts) I replaced the front shocks (5100's with 25k on them) and put the truck on the alignment rack. There was nothing wrong with the shocks and the alignment was spot-on. That truck had all recent urethane bushings in the front end and no play in any tie rods/ball joints. The tires just wore terrible. Even with 5k mile rotations. I know others have had great luck with them. But they wore uneven and really wore out WAY faster than I expected.

I do! I also don't wear my combat boots jogging! The majority of driving most people do is on road, and LT A/T tires are noisy, inefficient, slow acceleration, and are hard on components due to weight. I have two wheelsets; one with LT tires for offroad/winter, the other P rated passenger set for the other 80% of the time. YMMV. At 2.5 MPG loss, over 80,000km's the P rated tires pay for themselves.
FWIW, Destination X/T's are some the lightest E rated tires you can get with an aggressive tread.

Agreed, the last time I went for a jog in combat boots was when I was with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children back in the 1970s.

Why go LT on a mid size truck? SL are just fine. Unless you are carrying more than the rated capacity... I think my SL 265/70R17 Toyo Open County ATIII's look downright sexy on my truck... consider them more cross-trainer than a combat boot while jogging...

Thanks a lot for digging up the old memories of combat boots and running.
I have the same tires and like them as well.

Those look good. I’ll have to think about these. As much as I want an aggressive looking tire I’m too practical to justify it. These look like a nice median between efficiency and looks
