I use Convenience Car Care over in Yorkshire. They're not a pass anything shop, but they're not as ridiculous as most others.

One of the links was posted in another thread, but it was the national forestry site I believe. The roads were outlined solid, dashed, or had grey dashes on them. Its hard to find something when you arent sure where to look, ya know lol.

Gotcha.. The one site I use to play around on is the same, but you can click on said road in an info box will pop up, giving vague info on said road. but will say what it's used for and dates when open or closed. as for if it saying high clearance/rough road... That can vary a lot from small rocks slightly larger than the normal gravel rd. to 10inch plus boulders. as well as little ruts to big ones. Kind of have to go find out for your self kinda thing.

Ditto for me. I lived in Herndon VA but just moved to Harpers Ferry WV about 6 months ago. This thread covers pretty much most of VA since we have to drive aways to do any decent wheeling.

I could provide bus pictures to liven it up, but thats pretty OT and no one probably enjoys it quite like I do haha

it is getting quite nice out, and I'd be down for a camping/offroading trip sometime. Went off-roading on foot today, definitely not as luxurious as riding in an air conditioned box

go hokies headsign did not age well.

Do you have any control of the overhead signage?

Yep I can change them between a bunch of canned messages. There are two messages types, Destination and PR code, that the display rotates through each of them. Destination displays the 3 digit route code and cycles through all major roads that are serviced. I only change the destination code to "This bus ends" or "last run" at the end of the day. Otherwise it gets left alone. The second is a PR code, which you can change to one of a zillion canned messages like "Go Hokies!", "Happy Valentines Day", "Good Luck on Exams", "Don't Drink and Drive", "Ride the Bus", etc. Then it just cycles back and forth between the destination and PR code

Cools. I figured they be locked out for someone trying to write their own message.

I wish I could write my own haha. I'd rock "blinky thing means turning" all day long. or "blinky thing means lane change" would be useful on the back

I was thinking something somewhat central to a lot of the NoVA area, maybe Manassas or Culpepper. I just don't know the area. I don't know BJ's as I haven't been there. What about a brewery someplace? We hit a nice one that JT found, but I couldn't tell ya where it is.

Rite rite. My work truck has a total of 10 very bright led strobe lights. it's amazing how people do not see them or me when working. and no telling how many traffic cones I have out either.

Yeah, You would think so. I’ve had a cone or two mowed down before. Sometimes I think night work is even worse. People loose all sense of everything and drive all over the place.

oof thats not fun. Night does add some extra flavor for sure. I've had some scary encounters at night, when I'm stopped for pedestrians in a crosswalk, and cars decide that is the best time to use the oncoming lane to pass the bus

haha. rite rite. I sometimes wonder how beat up I would be if I was hit by a vehicle while I'm up in the air in the bucket.
