Did you replace because you needed tow points? Or some other reason?

A few of reasons, I suppose.
    1. Recovery points.
    2. With the hidden winch the fit & finish wasn't as good as I would have liked. The black plastic piece never would stay snapped in. Not sure if that was my fault or not.
    3. I found the Slimline used and at a good price on this site.

Yes. It requires a bit of cutting, but it's super simple. Takes a bit of time with the winch, but not hard.

Looks great. How did you get the stock decals off without damaging the finish? I have blacked-out army green and want to put a black flag on the rear fenders.

Heat gun, plastic scraper (I used the bondo cards) and patience - although it’s probably easier to peel new ones than old ones

the heat will lift an edge, be cognizant to not overheat - doesn’t need a ton- then you can peel with your fingers/ use the card to get an edge then peel. Use goo gone or some such after for residual glue

I just peeled them off no heat gun. There’s times when using heat will cause some adhesive to remain on the panel so if they are still somewhat new I recommend going slow and no heat.
If they tear easily then use a little heat.
