    Those were a revelation when they came out. Before that I had a Casio digital that not only would nice be a thumb blister trying to press the light, but the light itself only covered a third of the display.

    "Something, four I think, seven. Something forty seven. 10 maybe? Feels like 10:47, I think. Ow. My thumb hurts. Anyways, back to playing Nintendo."


    Few years ago I lost my Timex indigo in a heated bartering session at some street market in the Congo. Got two four-foot tall wooden giraffes in exchange for that watch and a $20 bill. Had to hand carry those big bastards on three flights to get them home. I was wearing a white shirt and discovered too late that those giraffes were stained with some kind of shoe polish or dye that wasn't dry.

    I looked the hot mess when going through US customs. Still have those giraffes though. And I still think about that goofy $10 watch when I walk by them. That was a fun adventure.
