I originally wanted a Sport 6MT as I felt the Pro was too much money and probably unattainable. Picked up the auto because I was offered a deal on it and didn’t have to wait. They offered me $500 more then any other dealer for my trade. No dealer fees and $1500 off of msrp. But my want is a 6MT. Now I have a chance on a pro 6MT or a sport 6MT.

If I were you I'd get the Pro 6MT then. You wanted a MT and assuming you can afford it from a cash-flow perspective, that thing will become a unicorn in a couple years. The resale on the Pro will always be higher than that of the sport assuming you're not modding it heavily so it may end up costing you less if/when you go to sell it later. IE pay $65k vs $55k for Pro vs Sport, sell in 5 years time for $45k vs $30k, so the pro costs you $20k and the sport $25k. These are obviously random numbers pulled but something to consider. Hell, even if it costs the same over the life of them (using my previous example) you'll have been driving a better truck for that time.

Thanks! Sounds like there's still room to deal which is great news. I was actually kind of looking forward to a no-haggle experience but I guess I'll be shopping around.

    My 2 cents
I'm getting the '22 TRD Pro in white (manual). I've considered other models (eg Sport) and auto transmission; I went with my gut and got what I wanted. We're all obviously spending time to think about the options, I think it boils down to a few things:
    1) Pro vs Offroad/Sport - Who's kidding who here.....a base Tacoma will meet most of our needs 95% of the time. I got the Pro to provide the option to get offroad if/when I want to. I also think it's just more cool......it's like a Porsche 911S vs a GT3; the GT3 makes us feel better. Part of buying a car is practical (what it will do for you); the other part is how it makes you feel. I wanted the Pro for how it makes me feel; I'll admit it....I want the top of the line. Be proud of what you own (whatever it is) and fck everyone else
    2) Manual vs Automatic - If you like to row the gears it never gets old. If you're thinking of buying a manual for any other reason you probably shouldn't; an automatic is more practical in every other way. In ten years all cars will be battery driven and automatic. A manual has an upside because it will be a novelty in the future; that may mean manuals will be worth more (collector items) but that's speculation.

My first Tacoma was a 2016 TRD sport 6MT and I liked the truck overall but did find the sport suspension was a pretty harsh ride. I don’t understand having a firmer sport suspension to help cornering in a truck and depending on the type of driving and road conditions where you are I’d factor that in. The TRD pro suspension is great off and on road for my preference
I agree with all your points as well as your choice of truck. I’m 2 weeks away from getting a white 6MT pro as well! How a vehicle makes you feel driving it has always been very important to me.

I wish I could find a white one. But I’ve been offered 2 pros just this week so I shouldn’t complain

Can anyone with Toyota knowledge tell me why my 2020 Tundra came with the all weather style Toyota floor liner mats and my 2022 tacoma came with the flat rubber mats? Was kinda looking forward to not having to spend $340 on weathertechs/husky’s.

Toyota, you can keep your carpeted and flat rubber floor mats and substitute both of them for 1 set of the all weather style. The attic of my garage will thank you.

My 2020 came with the rubber honey comb style mats front and rear. I replaced the fronts with husky x act contour. But I do reinstall the oem driver side mat for service visits.

I hope you don’t forget to decline the white lithium grease sprayed on your hinges from 10’ away.

I ordered the HP floor liners from weather tech as they are made of a rubber like material and have the most coverage. I have husky weather beaters in the front of my tundra, the rubber feel is superior to the original weather techs.

what is this "service visit" you speak of, and why would you swap floor mats for it?

there was a time when Toyota dealers would remove your aftermarket floor mats during service because of the stuck accelerator pedal fiasco. They have never done it to me with my 4runner or tundra both with husky liners though.

Take a look at sales of MT and Autos and that will tell you what type is easier to sell.

Deposit placed October 29th for January allocation. Truck arrived to Toronto port several weeks ago and frustratingly sat 25 mins from my house held up for I believe heated seats. Picked it up yesterday morning and the white is really growing on me. Love the 6MT!!

white was one of my last choices but with a TRD pro in 6MT one can’t be choosy and now after 2 days of staring at it in my driveway I’m wondering if I would actually now choose the white over the grey or black I was originally after.. All the black accents and wheels break up the white really well.
