The first mod I did was the USA-Spec ipod/mp3 interface, so that is probably it. It would be nice to have heated outside mirrors, heated seats ( for us old farts with aching backs) and power seats, power rear window. Nav system. Like some mentioned, these would add up on the purchase price.

Skid plate. Roof rack. F**ked up grille.
Some good replies here. But hands down.... locking tailgate!
20-25k truck and some loser steals your tailgate. 500 deductible and guess what.... you are basically buying a new tailgate.
    locking lugs come in second.

A real stereo would be nice with a 30K truck. Mine came with the JBL and it was the first thing I replaced. Heated mirrors (which are standard on my 20K Subie) would have been nice too.

That's a 10 minute and $36 fix. The power sliding glass and MP3 player are a pain in the ass and the slider is big bucks.

I agree, all those options are nice, and if i had them i wouldn't complain, but i bought a truck not a car. I can deal with lacking all those options as long as i have the functionality of a truck and reliability of a toyota

Those were dealer installed options on my Taco. I didn't think they mattered much. Is there really a problem with tailgate theft?

Understood Alliance master but that wasn't the question. :lalala:

It was what would you add if you could?

I got a truck and I love it and I love Toyota. BUT, I don't think it's a "truck" thing to ask for opening back windows and an MP3 option. What the hell does that have to do with it being a truck or not?

In other words, as long as it comes like a Flintstones mobile then it's a real "mans" truck?

    C'mon with that macho bullshit.

I had heard tell ( my wife said her friend said....) that there was a problem with tailgate theft. I dunno. I've thought of taking the tailgate off when not actually hauling a load of something. Not sure how the change in airflow would affect mileage, good or bad. But does anyone else have a more reliable take on whether or not this is really a problem or not?

Thanks for the link. Yeah, sort of. I suspect that that bubble of air depends on the airflow speed, but I can see the rationale.
