I'd like it if you get vehicles with out navigation and drivers assist aids, and what ever other stuff I don't really need. I don't need leather either. I will use what ever technology a vehicle has, but I can get buy with out it.

I just assumed the base model really lacked a lot, but it actually does come with most of the creature comforts. I wanna hate this "truck" because of the front end, but it's hard to argue when you see what you get at that price point. I can see why they stopped taking preorders already.

I appreciate vehicles that can serve a purpose. And the Maverick looks like it could be a vehicle like that. My Tacoma is long paid off and still looks and drives like new even with nearly 100k miles on her. So she's going nowhere. But if I didn't own it or had to replace it....the Maverick would serve 99% of my truck needs. I would have to pass on the Santa Cruz because of the tiny bed and steep price. But the the Maverick? Sure, I'd rock one.

Very quiet at highway speed. I've not noticed any wind problems. However, both of these things were extreme in my last daily driver, an 03 celica which is basically like driving a go cart. So my experience is a little subjective.

The only options I ordered were the ecoboost and trailer hitch receiver. This base model XL has more stuff than any other vehicle I've owned. The most obvious omission is no cruise control option on XL, that's how Ford is pushing people to the XLT. I don't want it.

I saw my first Maverick in the wild today. I didn't get a real good look at it, but I thought it looked fine. It was bigger than I had imagined it, and y'all that are saying it doesn't look like a truck need to get your glasses checked. :D

Glad for the folks that are happy with their Fords. Good for you. As for me, I’ll keep my Toyotas.

I like it, just missed a few marks for me. Too bad they don’t make a regular cab 6’ bed version. Ford AUS used to offer the Falcon Ute RTV, comes with a tray and a locker. That would be more practical for my intended use…though would never sell here, seems like the American consumer isn’t much into practically, and more into how things look and/or status.

Just because you want something doesn’t mean the rest of the population does. The Maverick fits the bill for a lot of people.

Oh of course, I am in the minority and know it. The Tacoma was a compromise vehicle as nothing out there really satisfied what I wanted. Looked at everything from cars, trucks, to vans. An extra cab midsize truck ticked off the most boxes, it isn’t perfect…but works for 99% of the things I need and do. The Tacoma beat out other brands only by a slim margin. My only real complaint other than having an ugly too machismo front end, is the only “ok” fuel consumption. Could of bought one of the diesel GM twins, but didn’t think it could be a long term vehicle without costly out of warranty repairs i.e. the emissions system.

I'd say for an AWD ecoboost she does pretty good considering i'm above 7000 feet and live in the mountains.

Envious of the mpgs that is for sure! Seriously looked at the Maverick, but needed at least a 6’ bed and better towing for my moto/camp trailer. Probably could make the Maverick or Bronco Sport work if a went to a lighter setup, but the Tacoma is already cramped for space when I have all my moto/camp gear loaded up. Majority of my friends are in diesel 1 tons or Sprinters if that tells you anything.

Lol! Yeah not the prettiest thing. It is like red neck engineering from the factory. Someone was given their grand-dads Crown Vic, but needed a truck.

Like the Maverick, but storage is kinda awkward. Maybe if the rear seats folded up like the Ridgeline, storage would be better. Have rather large moto gear bags, couple totes and fuel jugs that I carry. Considered the Ridgeline too, since it is the anti-truck truck, but not off roady enough for me.

The maverick is not in the same category as any vehicle on the road, so nothing to compare it to yet. The Santa Cruz is way bigger, same with every other small truck. The Honda is way bigger, even my Tacoma is pretty big sitting next to it and I have the access cab. The maverick is about the same size as the Subaru Baja almost down to the inch.
