Oh, how did I forgot to mention Mclaren. They are my team and look like they are completely screwed. I really hope they can get back to form soon.

I like Sainz and leclerc a lot. Hard not to. Seem like good dudes. Really hope they can be competitive but stay friends. Might be the start of quite the inteam rivalry.

Wow what a race! The ending couldn’t have happened to a better team! Screw Redbull just wish McLaren would’ve been a lot better. Hopefully there will be 3 teams competing for wins in the next few weeks

Good to see the race circuit decided to put a fire marshal at Grosjean’s barrier where Gasly parked up.

I may JUUUST have you beat...

I remember watching the "Grand Prix of Monaco" on ABC's "Wide World of Sports" on my parent's black and white TV.
I couldn't have been more than eight or ten years old. Definitely very early 70's.

Jackie Stewart, Jacky Ickx, Ferrari, Tyrrell, Brabham Lotus JPS,... geeze I'm old...

I've been a Ferrari devote ever since.

I'm happy Ferrari are looking good to start the season, but I don't discount Mercedes in any way, shape, or form.

I'm really interested in next week's race. In my opinion, that'll show what's to come for the next third of the season at least.

    Cheers

Yep. MB will hit the "cheese the system" button soon. We all know it. Enjoy the show.

I did watch that stuff as well......born 1958, so yes I was in high school when I became a Ferrari fan and all us nerd guys were talking F1. But when I was 8 or 10 I liked race cars, but I don't remember the details........well other than.........Jackie Stewart, Jacky Ickx, Ferrari, Tyrrell, Brabham Lotus JPS..........TV was obviously way different. We got 5 channels!

    I remember all too well!!...
Four channels here.. ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS... that was it.
Watching those races made me an addict. On Mondays, I would ride my bicycle to the library and read the "London Times" in order to keep up on the race results.

    I love F1...

    Cheers

    A bit off topic...

I was out of the the country last week on business.

I'll give anyone 5 bonus points if you can tell me exactly where I took this picture.

It's not a big deal, but I was as giddy as a little school boy.

    Cheers

Come on, way to easy. Last time I went there was in a convoy from England, we were in a ‘90 Audi RS2. Probably best lads weekend away I’ve ever had.

    Ha!

    That would've been a blast!

I've been blessed in that my career has taken me pretty much all over the world for many years, but this was my first time here.
There were F3 cars (I think) doing wet testing on the infield.

    Anyone else?

    Cheers

    Excellent!
    Within 50 feet!!

Just curious, do you know "where" it is, or were you reading the meta data from the pic?

I’m not nerd enough for metadata. I’ve never been there but given the thread context, European gloom and French street sign it was a pretty easy guess. Then it was just a comparison of the D338 to the track and your picture.

On my bucket list is the Nurburgring, I’ve gone around that track hundreds of times in my GT3…. One day I’d like to drive it in person and not just on my PlayStation :anonymous:

    Excellent!

The exit of Tetre Rouge and the beginning of the Mulsanne straight.
I was really surprised that roughly 60% of the course are public motorways.

I was Jacky Ickx driving my rental Peugeot 90 kph down the straight!

    Cheers

One year we got on a drunken/stoned mission at night and trekked through fields and a forest and got right up to the barrier on the straight, was such a buzz and slightly scary situation. Well worth it though!

This was back in 1998 when race cars made a lot of noise, such as the R390, McLaren F1 and Vipers. Stood 20ft away from them at top speed was insane.

Best part for me at Le Mans is walking the pit lane the night before, public allowed no restrictions, way cool to look at top tier cars up close.

I haven’t done anything with Motorsport for years. We did camp at Laguna Seca over New Years, no racing so was lame!
