A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals and Gals! More little projects today. Got the wall shelf for the cable box in the bedroom, mulching, some rocks....

We kept the land line Tom, because it's just so cheap on the cable bill. And, the wife still has a TracFone, where the minutes matter. I have unlimited now, but still have that habit too. So, there's still calls we get we'd rather not have on our cells.

Mowed the thatch, caught the fish, and one of the first steps for the next major yard work was to pull the Turk's Cap roots. (I'm too old for this!)

    20220318_142727.jpg
    20220318_142748.jpg

    Then, all these rocks

    20220318_142820.jpg

will replace the rotted old timbers.

    20220318_142758.jpg

Eventually, there will be the "electrical panel" walk next to the wall, code room for whatever backup power ends up there, a decorative block, and the happy wife hot tub in front of it!

    Have a great Saturday all!

(Paid $3.85 last Wednesday - prices floating around there mostly here)

Got one of those rainy colder spring days going on, I'm outta things to do inside the house so I guess it's time to get out in the shop day.

Hold onto that thougt of gas prices. Biden signed a bill Thursday to ban all Russian imports (which we didn't really need) and crude barrel prices doubled immediately. We should start seeing that by Monday.

It's time to admit it, you're getting OLD Mike!

:woot: Just got done ripping "project" 2x4's out of 2x12's with cracks in them that the local lumber yard put out at their scrap bin. I got a bunch of good 2x4's in the 4' range that are perfect for multiple projects, and the price was right, just took a little work on my part. :) Now I need to make a new fish cleaning station that I have down by the pond, it doesn't last that long being outside all the time, but when I can replace it for free instead of buying the lumber to make it, I'm not complaining.

Only drove the truck twice on rain days last week. I still have a full tank in the truck. It roughly cost about .20 cents a day to ride the bike and it's fun! Oh and I peddle so I'm getting some excersize too.

I sure hope not. Most of us over 60 guys know that so many Detroit car innovations started as hot rod fads in California.

Seems out Governor suspended state gas tax on gasoline for a month starting last Friday. I probably will not see the reduction because I am averaging around a tank fill up every 2 months now.

Station-by me went from 4.29 to 3.83 yesterday . Every little bit helps. This is not sustainable for the average person.

When you feel it the next day, then you do easy stuff that day, and you are worse today; congratulations. You're getting older.

:pccoffee: Good Moring Porch Pals! ^^^Is true story, I swear! Going to try and finish the mulch, and pull the pots out of the greenhouse, along with some other stuff. Supposed to get a bunch of storm on Monday, so let Mother Nature water the pots!

Already got that done round here, hauled almost a tonne of yard stuff that came down with the snow to yard recycle. The Taco still hauls it like a champ.
Seed starters are coming up. Spring is being mental as usual.

Had fun out at Hidden Falls Off-Road Park with my son.

Skid plates and rock sliders are a good idea on some trails!

Baby Back was marked on the map as two diamonds, but out on the trail as four diamonds.

    Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!

I believe I read that PA has the highest gasoline tax rate in the country - $.58/gal. I filled up at $4.40/gal last evening.

    Be safe out there!

Rather than all the incessant bitching about fuel costs what can a person do to reduce their expenses?
As a retired person I reduced unnecessary trips, combined errands, parked the truck and started driving my wife’s 2014 Prius. I can get better than 50mph on a flat road driving 50 mph. If Toyota would make a 2 door version with a small truck bed I’d be in line to buy one. Watch later this year as oil companies report record profits and then decide who’s to blame for high prices. Supply and demand is bullshit it’s plain old greed and a monopoly on their part. My sympathy goes out to the guys driving service trucks used for work. They have few options.
