I loved floating schedule in college, food service places on campus were all understaffed and I could work whenever and however long I wanted.

Do you only do supermarkets now? Refrigeration racks seem not fun to get in and work on

That would fuck with me a lot at first but I'd be willing to try it.

My schedule is like start whenever finish whenever mon-fri and you have no clue whats gunna happen.

just 2 more years then of this i jurneyman out, then im gunna go industrial. Where everything isn’t “critical” like a supermarket so hours are normal.

All the pumpers at my work are 7 on 7 off. If they take all their PTO they work 5 months a year

Yeah the company i work for is all commercial work. Everything from 7-11 to target or safeway.

we have a couple light industrial sights like cold storage wearhouses or distribution centers. but they hardly have any work and we only do a couple

I like watching that HVACR channel on YouTube, guy is super knowledgeable but I feel for him when he shows working at 1am on some busted ass AC or Fridge compressor in the blowing wind/rain on a roof. All of which could have been avoided if the customer just had a company do preventative work.

The issue isn’t the customer sometimes its getting good techs that actually do the PM rather then Sit in there van for 8 hours.

but yeah if a supermarket goes down it doesn’t matter what, your out there.

it could be Christmas day at 2am on your 16hour strait pouring rain and they want you on that roof fixing it.

I think he works with restaurants more than malls and supermarkets which explains the poor upkeep on their units, restaurants work on thin margins and big chains have lapses in management from top to bottom.

Restaurants are disgusting no matter what. Ive worked at a few as favors but never again.

i rather fight a raccoon under your house then work at a restaurant.

also working at peoples houses like when i was with sear. You see the worst of people and the best. Cant tell you how many times ive had to refuse service to people due to their living conditions. I saw a fridge where they spilled so much shit under it that it glued to the floor and I refused to move it because it was just gunna rip the floor up

I should call you to put my new furnace in, it'll be the easiest furnace job you've ever seen, large open space with walking room all around it, concrete floors that are epoxied, don't even think I need new ducting since the replacement unit is same dimensions and port locations.

If you wernt so far ill come right over. Would have to make it a 3 day trip to visit you lol.

i put both AC units in for @BartMaster1234. Was easy though because all I needed to do was install the units outside and hook up all the electrical and piping.

Most new track home construction is like that. Line sets are cheap so easier to install one during construction and abandon it then it is to run one after the fact if they want ac. Especially for a 2 store house where everything is in the attic like tylers.
