I want this truck to be ready to roll ASAP, so I don't have much faith in getting a set of SCSs unless they're used. I had a set of F5s in checkout a couple months ago and evidently 2.5 minutes wasn't fast enough...

Machined Ray 10s would be rad though.

    You guys are all nuts.
Craigslist all day long. Someone is letting go of their wheels for $100 because they have to have whatever the new hotness flavor of the month is.
Aren't you just going to rock rash them anyways?
Or are you going to Sonic on Friday night to try and score some underage chick who's only gonna wonder why your shiny new wheels don't have spinners?

I'd kill for some stealth blue Ray 10's but then the cheap ass in me smacks myself in the face and says I am only going to trash them up anyway. The overland tax for SCS wheels is insane.

1000% this haha Brett this guy speaks the truth.

Yeah I got 4 raceline beadlocks and 1 matching street lock for $1k used - I don’t see any reason to buy designer non-locking wheels at new prices. Before that I got 5 blemished ray 10’s shipped to my door for $890. I know I’m in a good location so not everyone’s able to find similar prices.

Let me know when you find some 17s with negative offset for $100, I've looked.

I don't really understanding the trashing new wheels argument. Isn't that what we do with everything else we put on these trucks?

I'm perfectly OK with buying expensive new wheels and immediately covering them in rock rash.

This is part of the problem. If I were to find something, it would almost certainly be a 6 hour round trip to pick them up. Given the used prices I've seen, it's not worth my time and the $100 in gas to get something I'm not 100% happy with.

True and I get that point. Sometimes it's worth paying for something that gets you the functionality you want and completes the look as well.

I here ya. It’s a cat fight for sure when they drop in the website. Scored mine as blemishes years ago. Still difficult to get a set of blemishses when they are listed as well.

Doesn't Colorado have a pretty decent TW express going? I bet someone is riding Steamboat this weekend.

Alright, the prospect of finally getting back out wheeling got me to get off my ass and just buy whatever was in stock. So I ended up with Hankook MT2s in 35x12.50r17 and KMC Impact OLs.

Happy to say that with the solo arms plus all the previous clearancing I've done, I was able to clear them without tubbing the firewall. What it did require however, was some nice big holes by the battery and airbox. Also had to do more cutting on the flares, fenders, etc. but all at the front of the wheel wells.

    20220402_173913.jpg

I knew the battery was going to be a problem, plus wanted to save what's left of the sheet metal up there, so I'm already in the process of moving it to the bed. The airbox on the other hand might be an issue. It hangs down into the hole I cut. Based on a how much I think the bumps will compress, it should clear, but who knows. Might have to get a "cold" air intake of some sort.

    20220402_152203.jpg

I think once I sort that out, I just going to rivet in some plastic to cover the holes. Not worth the effort to weld sheet metal back in.

Anyways, I think the truck looks rad.

Also, sounds like the NWF box is a week or two out, but probably longer for triple sticks...

Not a clue. I'll bring a cordless grinder and sawzall with me when I wheel it the first time and ensure they fit. :D
